First injection
First injection
I just got back from my urologist. Actually I was seen by the PA. Both the doctor and the PA are female. I have been seeing the doc for about four years and am comfortable with her. When I heard I was seeing the PA whom I have never met I got kind of nervous. She explained things in a comfortable manner. When she did the actual injection there was a strange sensation going thru my penis to the tip. She explain that was because there are many nerves that travel from as far away as the kidneys and that's what I was feeling. It went away right after but it was a strange feeling. Now with the anticipation of that sensation again and me actually having to push the needle I am sure my first solo shot will bring on a case of the nerves again. The doc has prescribed .2 cc to begin with. Today they gave me half that amount for the demo and to see if it produced results which I am happy to say was successful. Mr. Happy began to rise to attention. The PA said I had good results. She also gave a two hour window to wait and then take Sudafed if it hadn't gone down. So far so good. I am wondering if any of you have experienced that same sensation through the penis as I had?

Re: First injection
I don’t get a strange feeling but I do get kind of a rush inJr if that is what your referring to. I have been injecting for a long time and I still have to take a deep breath before I take the plunge!
The reward it worth the anxiety. The real Anxiety does go away quickly.
Best of luck.

Re: First injection
Congratulations on your first injection. You'll be a pro in no time. I don't understand why but some injections react quicker than others. Some can take several minutes to develop while others seem to react near instantly. The quick ones can give a little almost instant sensation that's kind of pleasant.
Have fun!

Re: First injection
Well....got the first injection today in office.....ouch.
.2 was the dosage......didn't do much. Was told to increase to .3 next time and see what happens. Hope it works the way others say it works. If not, I will go back to the pump. The pump works fine.....just too mechanical, but very effective. Thicker and strong firm effect.

Re: First injection
I used injections for over 12 years and loved the results. Defiantly a hassle if your traveling but other then that no problem. Mine started to fail me about a year and a half ago so took the final step which I didn't even know about till about six months ago. Glad I did, I'm very happy, perfect, no, but would not go back even if I could.

Ouch from the meds or the stick? For most guys the "stick: becomes a non-issue. For many that get alprostadil med pain that also moderates as you become accustomed to the meds.
.2 and .3 of what? Do you know the mix. They very greatly. You probably have a weak starter dose and you may require a stronger one. I'm confident you and your Doc will figure out what mix and dose is appropriate for you. It may require some trial and error or you may nail it on the next try.
It takes awhile to work out the dose for a lot of guys. Be patient!
It can also take awhile to perfect your injection technique so don't get frustrated if you're not an automatic expert.
I can make the VED work too, but for me the injections are much better. Whatever works for you is the best option but definitely give the injections a good try.

Re: First injection
Congrats. 20 units works for you. What is the formula?
ED worsened over 25 years, likely VL. Went through pills and injections, and results faded over time. Implant AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24.
Re: First injection
I have been using Trimix for a year and a half now twice a week average. I use Autoject and rarely have any pain at all. A couple weeks ago I did a routine shot on the left side and I had a little pain at the site plus mild shooting pain on that side of the tip. Must have hit some nerve. I kept doing the shots on the right side and rest the left and it’s almost gone.
I love my autoject. I have no problem injecting at all. Hand injections hurt me more and I don’t like that.
All the best.

It's a trimix. It says Prostaglandin/Papaverine/Phentolamine ( 2.5 ml ) 10MCG/30MG/1MG/1MG/ML If you can make sense out of all that.
The initial dose was .2cc which was equal to 20 on the needle. That was just a trial to see if there was a response which there was. Maybe 2/3 mast for 90 minutes or so. My instructions are to increase by .025 so that would be 25 on the needle. The next step is to muster the courage to do it myself and also set up some private time with my lady.

Re: First injection
Speaking for myself there is no pain at all with the actual poke. The needle is way thin. And just a tingle when injecting the meds. I'm looking forward to getting some Trimix. I've been trying Edex20 (Alprostadil) with poor results and with that dose it sort of burns.
