Hi all. I am a new guy just registered on this wonderful forum. I would like to say HELLO to you all, my friends.
I'm here to look for answers because i don't trust urologists anymore. My big question is: is vascular surgery useful or possibly useful for ED caused by venous leak?
I read many papers, vascular surgery is out there since 50 years but showed no effect - sometimes it is even dangerous.
Recently, i read about 3 interesting techniques: 1 by dr. Kuehhas and Paduch, 1 by dr. Geng-Long-Hsu (if i'm not wrong - he's from Taiwan http://www.glhsu.org/en/) and another one by some italian radiologists, here you can take a look: https://www.jvir.org/article/S1051-0443 ... 3/abstract
All of them claim great suggest rates and "new tecniques" to treat this kind of ED.
Now: after some research on this great forum ,i found out a really really sad story: gollam's story. I read about many other guys that underwent the first kind of surgery by dr Kuehhas and finally got implanted because the satisfaction was nearly 0.
But i would like to know:
1. if the other 2 surgeries, the one from dr. hsu and the one provided by italian radiologists, are legit;
2. even if they're not legit, do you think that venous leakage will ever be solved with surgery when we will have a better understanding of penile anatomy?
3. Do you know any other kind of "new great tecnique"? I am interesting to know as much as i can about the argument, so if you know something else please share.
PAY ATTENTION: i would like to have rational and scientifical answers. I am not considering an implant now, so please don't answer something like "go for an implant" or "venous surgery is bullishit you idiot" because i'm here to have a more clear vision. Urologists, which i payed a lot, were not able to give me an answer. Now i only trust to us, the patients!
Thank you really much for your answers and for your support - you're a great motivation to me, this forum is really full of interesting informations.
I wish you all the best.

Dear Friend,
I’m far not as informed in this field as you are, but what I know these procedures are not very predictable. ED is a very complex issue with multiple causes: venous leak, psychological, hormonal etc causes even in young men with no appearance reason.
Tying or constructing the veins to block the outflow of blood seems too simple for a complex issue like this. I hope one day medicine will find better solutions but today it’s not the case yet.
All the best!

Re: Vascular Surgery: the truth
I do not have the experience of having had vascular surgery to correct my Venous Leak, but was told by three doctors there was very little chance of it working, at least in my case. They all made comments about those veins being so small and to stitch them up or create some kind of patch would more likely squeeze the vein than repair the leak. I was also told in cases where it worked, it was sometimes only temporary.

Welcome to Frank Talk Hope... Yes, I believe that some day, there will be a cure for ED, however, I believe there will also be a cure for cancer, aids, muscular dystrophy, etc. When, is anybody's guess. There are currently ONLY 3 treatments for ED... pills, needles and the implant. Yes, the implant is final because once you get it, it will never be possible to get a natural erection again BUT, when I was able to have natural injections I couldn't screw for hours and I was not able to prevent PE either. I was not willing to wait for doctors to possibly come up with a cure and my wife doesn't have to either.

Dear brothers,
thank you really much for your reply! I already feel at home here. I feel that here i am understood by everyone and well adviced from someone who have had more experience than me.
If someone went to a vascular surgery or knows more about this, especially the three i talked about, i would really appreciate if you would share with us.
Thank you. ED at 24 sucks.

I have venous leak. I researched surgery for venous leak for many hours, days, and months. Here’s my conclusion.... all vascular surgeries for venous leak are experimental. Low success rate. If it does help, it is temporary. I chose an implant and I’m happy.
Re: Vascular Surgery: the truth
Hi Hope
Before I had my first implant in 1993, my urologist at the time recommended I see a colleague of his, had to drive three hours to see him, he suggested I should have a dorsal vain ligation, I decided to go ahead with this as I believed these people to be the experts, and know what they are doing. It was a relatively simple operation, but I wish I never had it, my penis looked purple all the time, much the same as if you tie something around your finger, the worst thing was I lost a lot of sensation in my penis after that and it has never returned. Did it work, yes it did I used to wake up with the most painful erections, it was that hard, but unfortunately it only worked for about three months then went back to not being able to achieve an erection at all, my GP said that the blood has probably made another path, then I got my first implant. Would I recommend dorsal vain ligation, NEVER. My penis has never gained the sensation I once had, and still has a purple look especially in cold weather, I now suffer with anorgasmia, witch I am trying to find a solution.

Re: Vascular Surgery: the truth
I have been reading up on all e.d. solutions from March of this year. All that I have read was interesting. All of the surgeries that were performed had so degree of success however usually ended up as a failure within a short time usually within 2 to 3 months. Is it worth it? For me it is not. I have asked other eurologist an they did not suggest it. I have also plaque build up and it is not recommended to try and scrape that out.
The penis is a great organ. It is very complex, There are so many small veins and arteries that have to come together in order to work. The nerves and all of the parts that come together.
To be having surgery is always taking a chance of something going wrong in my opinion. Pain, infections of any kind will devistate most anyone.
There is a lot of information on the internet. Beware of everything you read. Take it with a grain of salt. Trying to find a cure may lead to a bad decision,It also may be of great value.
At the present time the implants seem to be the only answer that works at this point. People are wanting the best of the best to do the work.

Re: Vascular Surgery: the truth
One professor of urology I saw a few years ago told me they used to do the surgery but don't any more because it never lasts. The body just makes a new place for the blood to go over time. I tried to take a picture of the veins in my arms for an example to show you what it does but cannot get a picture that can be seen w/o drawing the veins which to me would not seem quit legit proof. My right arm had 1 great big vein, topside and bottom. My left arm looks like chicken wire there are so many veins interconnected going back and forth. Reading the reports of others and from what my doctor told me, I would not do it. The doctor who told me they do not do this surgery any more did not try to sell me an implant either so there was not this type of incentive to disqualify vein ligation or occlusion surgery. Cheers.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.
