How to keep it private?

That was great advice BUT once everything is said and done, are you going to try to keep it even from your sex partners?

I don't kiss and tell to folks I know and am around. Now women they talk. And they will find the 3rd guy down there. So later after it is done and working I will be ok with folks knowing. But until then I want it to be private. I guess I can talk about it here. But not to others I know until it is fixed. I don't know if that makes any kind of sense or not.

Hell I brag about mine and so does the wife...so loves it!

What do you tell your boss and co-workers? I work for a large corporation and will have to tell HR the real reason, but does everyone have to know? It seems quite embarressing to tell everyone.

Some of our members have said that they used a hernia repair as the reason. I used prostate problems as a reason but I like the hernia repair better. Why would you have to tell your HR department the truth if you don't want them to know??

On other surgeries they seem to contact the doc and get paperwork and stuff. I think they check out your story on being absent from work for few weeks or whatever.

That is understandable but, most employers are content with a doctors note. Even if they do call your work, privacy laws will not allow them to say anything more than you had a procedure and will need _____ number of days off. If you don't want to tell them, don't.

There is no way a doctor will tell an employer the health problems of their patients. No way!

agreed that there is "no way that a doctor would tell your employer the details" of your medical affairs.

If the HR department needs to know why you will be out for a month, telling them that "you are having surgery and will need to recover" is plenty information enough. They might want a doctor note, and that is easy to get from the office staff (it will say, Joe blow is having surgery on january 1 and will have an expected out of work recovery for two weeks).

Never, should the HR department know more detail than that.

As with other responses, the best possible lines to use are:

"I am having urological surgery"
"I am having a cystocele repair"

The hernia excuse is really great, but many will be suspicious regarding why you would leave town to have a common operation like that.

Finally, as others have stated, using the medical escort service means you will not need to have a family member help you. Going out of town is a great idea since that will mean 100% certainty that nobody can figure out your secret.

That is a good point about using "hernia" I never thought of that but, like I said, I used "prostate surgery". I'm surprised nobody asked any further questions.
