Seriously Larry how can you make such an absolutely unfounded statement like you just did. Are you trying to give the impression that’s the likes of Dr. Kramer and Dr. Eid are just a couple of total bumpkins with no qualifications and the members of this forum know more that the these surgeon’s that have between them more than 50 years of installing implants.
I think that childish statements made to information hungry people that come to this form looking for honest sensible information are not helpful.
I should think that you need to re think that statement and try a more mature response.

I didn't take Larry's comment to literally ignore doctors orders. I felt he was suggesting how to cope with healing process such as using towels under your rear end while driving home. Laying still on your back. Basically how to deal with normal discomfort while healing. The brotherhood should be very versed on these issues which worked for them. If I feel problems are present it's time to call the good doctor. Thanks for your comments Dave.
RP surgery for PCa March 2011, rising PSA 2013, remission since 2014. Chronic ED since 2011 tried pills, VED, and injections. Implanted LGX 4/17/19 Dr. Kramer. On scale of 1-10 I'd give it an 8. That's due to a slight curve.

What does that mean exactly?

I work part-time as a Personal Trainer and conduct exercise classes for seniors. Dr. Kramer's nurse indicated I may resume exercise classes on or about 3-4 weeks post op. Did not discuss when to give implant a trial run.

Ok I ask because the way that was worded - made me think that those of us who work in office environments... Well we couldn't go to work or go grocery shopping or anything like that.

I'd plan on flying to see Dr. Kramer, unless I decide to drive and stop half way between where I live and his office... And do the same on the return... Staying in Baltimore for 3-4 days post-op to give plenty of initial "settling" in to my new condition.

I do not see Larry saying anything to ignore your doctors order.
What he said, some doctors recommended use of VED after implant and he mentioned about research that was done. One well prominent research urologist from Houston TX also promotes use of VED before and after implant ( not my doc) which is especially beneficial for patients who had their prostate removed because of Ca.
Another thing about doctors experience with post implant, I agree what Larry said. They are good at what they do(implanting) and no question about that. Many of them are so general with instructions that basically is tha same for any genito-urinary surgery.
Honestly, I learned more about recovery here then what was given to me as post op instructions.

Guys, Larry has never told anyone to ignore Doctor's orders if anything it's to follow them. IMO the point was for all the many after surgery questions the answers can be found here.

I would suggest that everyone just tone it down a little. Larry is just giving his experience of his own ordeal and that of the other brothers. Just like us, all doctors have their way of doing things, that does not mean that their colleagues are wrong, they just do it differently. I would always ask my doctor his advise before using anything on my dick that stretches it or applies a great amount of suction, other then a mouth maybe :D .
Larry's a good guy, let him be! Lets be nice to each other, we're all in this together.

Thank you very much for your support. As for helping you, and anybody else I have helped, it is my pleasure. As has been pointed out, I have "been there, done that". As for referencing my doctor... well yeah, how could I reference some other doctor I don't know? I had a half hour conversation with Dr. Eid... nice fellow, answered all my questions and was humble. My doctor, Dr. Brock may not know everything about everything but he knows a lot more than just implants. Furthermore, he is an internationally recognized professor of urology surgery and the President of the Canadian Urology Association (he may be past president by now, I don't know how long the term is for)… I have good reason to trust his advice. Thanks again

Larry
