Implant Dr. in New Orleans
Implant Dr. in New Orleans
Well actually near orleans or baton rouge LA. I just finished may second revision on my AUS in Houston and I really don't want to go back to Houston now for the IPP revision that I need. What about Dr. Baum or Dr. Laborde, anybody have experience with them? My implant was done by Dr. Lipshultz at Baylor houston and he was excellent. Now, I just need my LGX 700 replaced due to leakage. I want it replaced with exactly the same parts. There should not be any guess work as to fit.
age 74 married, Robotic RP Dec.2009. Implanted Jan 2011 with AMS 700LGX and AMS 800 AUS. (AMS 1500). IPP failed March 2018 , leak. Planning an AUS revision (total replacement) in 2018, now I need the IPP too.
Re: Implant Dr. in New Orleans
Lucky for you, Neil Baum retired. I had to have a revision immediately after he did my implant in January 2017, he undersized the cylinders by 4 cm.

You might want to check at Baton Rouge Urology. I think it is Dr. Wills or Dr. Vick. I would have used them, but had to pay out of pocket and plus I know most of the people in the OR where it was going to be done so I went to Cornell in Huston. Very satisfied. Best of Luck!

yeah I think I read that thread. that was pretty bad. since my cylinders are a prefect fit maybe, just maybe, I could trust some one to simply replace them and the other stuff. Have you heard anything about Dr Laborde at Ochner I think?

I haven't heard anything about those guys, have you heard of any good work they have done? I will probably end up with Dr. Lipschutz my original Dr. in houston, With now my second revision to my AUS and needing a revision for my 700LGX, I am tried of going to Houston. (i'm just whining some)
It really gripes me that Medicare will no longer pay for a dual operation, you must now have two separate operations. I could/should have had this done two weeks ago when I had my AUS redone.

Re: Implant Dr. in New Orleans
I highly recommend Dr. Hollier at Baton Rouge Urology, at least for a consult. He will tell it to you straight. If he's not "the one" to do what you need, he will recommend the best there is. Summa Cum Laude at Tulane and first in his class at LSU Med School in New Orleans. And he has small hands....IJS

I used Dr Cornell in Houston and needed a revision immediately, I was undersized by 4 cm. Revision done by Dr Kramer in Baltimore, very satisfied.

Re: Implant Dr. in New Orleans
Thanks, I was more than satisfied with Dr. Larry Lipshultz work on my original implant of my LGX done in 2011. It leaked all it's fluid this last spring. I am just trying to not travel as far as houston, done that too many times. But I am beginning to think that's what i must do. I just had my AUS done again and that was three trips to houston or will be after two weeks from now when I do my follow up/activation visit.

Don't know where you are with this, but might want to check with the Baton Rouge Men's Clinic.
