The surgery including 1 night at the hospital was 650,000 baht, roughly 17,100 USD.
On 27th October I did the pre surgery medical checkup which set me back 3,300 baht, around 87 USD. I would expect the follow up on 4th November to be something similar, so total cost excluding travel and travel expenses will land at 17,300 USD

Do you know how much the hospital stay costed? Could you have left the same day as the surgery if you wanted too?

One night inpatient care is around 4-5000 baht, in my case this was already included. When I spoke to the doctor about it, he told me that he always insists that his patients stay over night. The idea of leaving the hospital with the catheter is not something I would consider after having been through this.

It appears almost same cost as having it done it the US. I'm glad it worked out.

. At 12:00 I was rolled over to the room for the surgery and was put to sleep shortly after.
I woke up in the observation room at 15:00 and was back in my room at 3:30pm.

He told me not to cycle the thing until 2 weeks after the surgery and that I should not use it for sex until 6 weeks post-surgery. Let’s see…

Any updates sir? You mentioned you couldn’t use it for 6 weeks. Did that happen, and how was your recovery?

I’m getting mine Jan 4 and intend to be in Pattaya late March. Cautiously optimistic that i’ll be able to use mine then.

Mister ThailandBound,

I read your post earlier and was thinking that you would find my contribution eventually.

I am now 9 weeks post op and the experience up until now have been much less painful and problematic than I expected. The only real issue have been that around week 4 I could feel that the pump had attached itself to the skin of the scrotum. This in turn resulted in a small pocket that developed right at the lower end of the incision. That area did then not heal properly, didn’t dry up and caused a skin infection. My doctor recommended an anti-bacterial cream which solved the issue in a couple of days. The pump and skin attachment is still there but after reading the forum this seems to happen sometimes and normally the pump will de-attach at some point. It doesn’t cause any discomfort other than that the bulb is much more noticeable than it would be when tucked away between the balls.

As for you question, I did not follow the doctor’s recommendation of the 4 weeks cycling and 6 weeks test driving. I started to pump it up around day 10 and had a brief but successful session with myself at day 11. After 3 weeks my wife stepped in and helped with oral reliefs and at 4 weeks we started to use it for its intended purpose.

The initial excitement of having a reliable and hard dick was fantastic but is now the new normal. The phase I am in now is more about learning how to have sex again. To some extent, the old dick and the new dick is different when it comes to sensitivity etc. With ED there were several things that I simply avoided because of fear that it would go soft. With the implant all such thoughts are gone, but my technique and experience is lacking. The good news is that I get plenty of practice. :D
