Stronger Formula Trimix

Could you explain to me your use of alprostadil monomix?

I don't know if you have access to it in Italy. It's basically the Caverject or Edex except it comes from a compounding pharmacy and is made in the that pharmacy.

The ingredients are basically just alprostadil and bacteriostatic water, similar to Caverject and Edex except it can be made to whatever strength the doctor will write it for. It comes already in the liquid form and must be frozen or it will lose potency fairly quickly. I use small diabetic type needles and draw it up from the vial. I'm fortunate that my pharmacy dispenses my 10ml script in ten 1ml vials which I keep frozen.

The small diabetic syringes, in my case 31 gauge, .3cc, 8mm are much easier to use than the Edex cartridges (Edex is what I used originally). For me the compounded mono-mix is MUCH CHEAPER than the Edex.

I also like that I can get it in stronger mixes than what is offered by Edex and I believe Caverject. My mix is 80mcg/ml of alprostadil so I don't have to inject very much volume of mix. I do have to inject it slower due to it's potency to avoid pain.

Sure, I'm averaging 12 mcg of alprostadil delivered in 15 units (.15ml) of a 80 mcg/ml mix. This is supplemented with a silicone cock ring worn behind the boys and usually 50mg of generic sildenafil. Without the ring or pill I'd have to up it some to probably 17 mcg.

At one time I used more but with experience and time I've been able to reduce my dose. I started out on Edex 20 and was using the whole cartridge. Actually I first tried the Edex 10s but they didn't do the job and immediately jumped to the Edex 20s until my insurance decided to no longer cover Edex. The insurance doesn't cover the locally compounded mono-mix either but it works out to be cheap enough per dose that I don't care. The latest batch did jump in price to $145 for the 10ml dispensed in 10 one ml vials.

I should clarify. I'm actually currently at 17 units of my 2.5 year old mix. I'm guessing the small increase is due to it's age. I'll know in a week if that's the case as I'll then be on a fresh newly purchased mix.

I use caveject prefilled cartridges. 20 mcg. What's the difference with the amount you inject?

Thank you Martin. I have since gotten a stronger formula. The Urologist started me at half of what is in my signature. I can tell more consistent results now. But I think I may need the next higher formula still. I at am about 50 ML with my current formula. Would be nice to cut that in half. I could be wrong, but I was thinking that my inconsistent results were somewhat because of the weak formula I had. I do miss the spot sometimes still. Although there have been a few times, I thought I missed and still had some effect. I also seem to get different results depending on which side I inject. And I guess I am still learning the best place to inject. When I first started injecting, I did not get good results at about the 11 oclock position. But now, I seem to get fairly good results at that position. I will get pretty good results with one dose and then the next time I use that dose, I do not get good results. Again, I am thinking maybe some of that is because of the weak formula I had. Although, I am not so sure my current formula would be considered strong either. I have another urologist appt in July (the urologist that prescribed me trimix has retired). I am hoping he will prescribe me a stronger formula. I like the idea of only having to inject .20 to .30 ML if the formula will allow me to do that.

Steve: I've consistently (for years) needed around ten percent less Trimix in one side than in the other. This gave me inconsistent results as I was learning, because I was following the advice to alternate sides each time, until I made a spreadsheet to keep track of all the injection parameters.

So I advise beginners to work with one side, titrating up to the optimum dose, and then repeating with the other side.

The equivalent of my dose would be 60% of your Caverject 20. That's .6ml (60 units) of the Caverject 20 mix. My mix is four times as strong as a Caverject 20 so I use 15% of my 1ml vial. That's .15ml (15 units) of my 80mcg per ml mix. I get my mix in the form of ten 1ml vials. I like it in the 1ml vials because I can keep most of them hard frozen in the back of the freezer and the one I'm using out of toward the front of the freezer.
