Medicine is a business and you are the consumer. If you know what you want and a provider denies it to you, find a provider that will provide you with what you want. This is a buyer's - not a seller's - market, as there are many surgeons in the business - good ones - that will provide you with what you want.

I was recommended an inflatable. After much research and thought, I opted for a malleable instead. It was my decision. I communicated this to my surgeon and they respected my decision - that was that, as it should be. A doctor may recommend whatever they want to recommend. People on here may tell you whatever they want to tell you. The final decision, however, is yours. Do not let anyone take that away from you.
Implanted 7/6/2023 w/ Boston Scientific Tactra Malleable (11MM; 21.5 CM + .5 CM RTE) at the Pittsburgh VA Hospital.

I have heard there is a problem with erosion of your tissue from always being hard with a malleable. Then they need a revision. I dont know, you may look into that though.
