I just over 4 weeks from surgery and was seen Friday for my second post-op visit. Using the doc's advice, this forum, videos on youtube, i've been able to cycle the implant although it is not getting to what I would consider "100%."- tips and the penis painful almost a sharp burning sensation inside which resolves after I deflate it. The incision has healed beautifully and it was like I never had surgery on the outside. I was worried about this inherent feeling of having this "foreign object," but it is non-existent, everything feels and looks natural. I'm sooo glad I went with AMS

I have up-down scrotal incision similar to videos from Dr. Eid or Clavell. The pump has started to also settle into its home and swelling has gone down around the pump so that its much easier to feel especially in the shower.

I was reassured yesterday that it will get easier and I will be able to get more fluid into the cylinders to allow that 100%. I've been cleared for sexual activity by the surgeon at this point which seems crazy to me, but was going to try at least oral maybe vaginal intercourse tonight with the wife. Hoping for the best. She is very excited but supportive, but hoping for the best. Doctor recommended a small amount of Uber lube silicone lube and maybe inflating 80% initially (just making sure its not too uncomfortable when erect) for penetrative intercourse.

8 week update :: the implant has become more a less a part of my body. I was cleared for sex at 4 weeks and pretty much all other activities at 6 weeks (cycling, etc). I have no more discomfort with pumping, day-to-day, or with sexual activity. Occasionally will get a slight low-intensity discomfort going toward the reservoir sac but pretty minimal. Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome of the surgery and appreciate how talented and accessible my surgeon as been. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Southern California area. I did quite a few pre-surgery consultations with high volume implanters in the region, but glad ended making decision to have surgery with Dr. patel.

How does it feel during intercourse? I’m hoping to have implant surgery on November 1.
63 years old, pills stopped working; Struggled with injections and restriction bands for past 2 years, minimal success. I’ve finally come to terms with needing an implant was scheduled for November 1, 2024, but my surgeon is on sick leave.

At this point, it feels very natural with intercourse. Using a lot of lube has been important. I occasionally will get like a muscle soreness type pain in the head of the penis but only if the implant has been fully inflated for more than 20 minutes - quickly resolved once deflated.

I'm still figuring out pumping it up with foreplay until I'm ready for any penetrative intercourse. My wife has been very supportive and excited. Its pretty amazing to achieve orgasm and still be rock hard. We have been having sex now at least once a day and has been great. We've tried oral and vaginal sex but hoping to work my way up to anal (which I've haven't been hard enough over the last few years to be able to do).

I'm about 3 weeks out now from my surgery, did you have any problems identifying the different parts of the pump in the early days? I've been grabbing the pump to try to identify the different parts, but I think either due to swelling or scar tissue on the pump, I havent had too much luck and everything kind of feels like a big block. I've watched videos but no help on that front. Did you have an experience like this too?

yes between weeks 2-4 quite a bit of difficulty. I think heating pad prior to manipulating down below is helpful to loosen everything up. Surgeon also recommended warm showers during cycling and once incision was completely healed warm bath which helped me get a better idea of the pump and the parts. Once the swelling goes down and its less painful to mess with the put it also helps, but it seems everyone heals a little different. Have you been able to meet with the surgeon to review cycling? I thought that was also very helpful - also offered to call in the device rep on another day if I continued to have difficulties, so I could spend more 1 on 1 time learning the ropes (although i didnt actually end up needing it)

Sounds like your recovery is going very well and amongst to better side. When you think this thing has just become a part of your body just wait til you’ve had it 4-6-8 months and it just gets better! By a year you will realize how much further you really have to go from where you are now! It just gets better as it becomes second nature to pump, use and deflate! Hope all continues to go well!

Unfortunately I had to fly out of my country to get the surgery done, so no physical visits, but I'm in active communications with my suregon. Its a little discouraging right now because I'm a few days away from 4 weeks and when I feel the pump area, it doesnt really feel anything like the keychain I was given, likely due to swelling and scar tissues. I want to get back to having sex as soon as possible but seems like this part cant be rushed.
