I was sent home with a catheter and a drain bag. It was up to me to remove them the next day. The nurses gave me about a two minute instruction on how to do it while I was still dazed from anesthetic. Got the catheter out without any issue, just felt strange coming out. The drain bag was a hassle.
After my surgery for bladder tumors a catheter was left in for five days. It was uncomfortable but caused no problems. Had no effect on the implant. Nurse removed that one.

After a word with my surgeon he had managed to get my appointment moved from the 10th to the 6th which has is a bonus, fingers crossed I get this damn thing out by Friday. It's all depending on me being able.to empty my bladder though

Try using a pee jug that you can stand and pee, take it home with you and use it.
