A question for the guys that had some erectile function left before they were implanted.

If pills still work I wouldn't recommend getting implant. With malleable implant you will loss girth. Inflatable will break. Maybe if you have a fat dick malleable an option. Or if you enough old to not broke inflatable.
30 yo. Get tactra in 30, 11mm rods. Lost 5mm in length and 5mm in width. Regret about getting implant.

I had some natural erections before getting the implant, but nothing good enough for sex and nothing I could maintain. Pills worked for a while until they didn't, and Trimix shots felt like an issue of chance more than anything. I'm very happy with the implant and will be using it this weekend.
Born 1990. ED since age 20 after a bicycle accident. Coloplast Genesis malleable implanted December 2024. Read my implant journal here.

I would still wake up occasionally with an erection, but before I could even think of masturbating it would go soft.
Prescription Viagra had failed some time ago; injections weren't reliable anymore even though I was up to 50 units of Quadmix. The fact I knew nothing about implants at the time is the main reason to work with a qualified doctor who specializes in men's sexual health and stop trying to self-diagnose your ED issue. If I had been aware of my choices before popping that first Viagra I probably would have gone straight to surgery.
Now after 5+ years of being implanted I can't say enough about how great it is to not have to rely on drugs that may or may not work, plus the ability to satisfy my partner every time.

My questions are for the implanted guys who still had SOME erectile function left before they were implanted.
Even though your pre-implant erections were sub-par, do you miss the organic erections enough that you have any regrets about getting implanted when you did? Did you wish you had continued with shots a bit longer?
Did the lack (or severe reduction) of the feeling of the stirring, swelling, engorgement of your penis change the way you experience desire, being turned on, getting horny?
I think it’s time to get implanted but I also know I will be giving up what’s left of my (not good enough for penetration without a shot) erections. I want to make sure I’ve considered this.
All good feedback from this group. My view is that the risk of side effects from surgery is low unless you have other risk factors, like prior implants, scarring from RP,etc. The risks are very low if you have your surgery done by a high-volume surgeon.
And there are risks from NOT having the surgery too: if you have significant ED, your penile tissue will atrophy overtime. You may regain that lost length/girth after getting an implant, you may not. This is why some urologists are starting too consider implants as the treatment of first choice for people with severe ED: the longer you wait, the worse it gets and the more years you’ve given up of your best sex life.
GM(73) ED for past 10 years. Before: 6.0"L, 5.5"G. After (30 days): 5.5"L, 5.25"G. AMS CX MS pump 18cm/17.5cm on 1/29/25 by Dr Clavell in Houston.

I was on trimix shots did not work I had my implant 15 months ago very happy with it even the flaccid state is huge. I have more sex now than ever it still feels stiffer than the original erected penus I had before. I am ready 24/7 with an erection do it you will feel the difference of a hard on like never before
