Probably plan to lose 10-20 pounds, give it a few months, see where that goes. It might right me. But if it doesn’t… I’m not wrong to just skip past the pumps and injections, am I?

I started on Ozempic in September of 23, by Jan 25 I have lost 60Lb. When I was in Yuma for the winter of 24, my desire for sex life had returned and got some Trimix. This is working for me. If you want to lose weight I would try Ozempic.

When I was in my mid 50’s, Cialis just wasn’t working reliably anymore. Some nights I could do it, others not. Then I tried platelet rich plasma injections, along with shockwave treatments and I noticed some improvement with reliability, but that improvement faded.

I then went with injections, trying to make those work combined with headache inducing Cialis. The injections created a deep ache, deep in the crus, and that ruined just about every erection I got. I spent the last 7 years trying to make this work, with all the crushing emotional hurt when I had yet another failure in the bedroom.

So I think I waited far too long to have the surgery, which just took place three weeks ago. In my opinion, try the Tri mix injections, because they do work for some, and without the major ache. However, if it doesn’t work, or hurts too much, over the first few months, get the implant!

I had no choice. nothing worked. Rp surgeon removed all my nerves. Sometimes my glans still is ice cold. I had lots of pain during healing, but I love my implant. mine is 7 years old. My dad had one that was still working after 12years when he passed at 86. Just posting to encourage you. Who knows your implant may last 15 to 20 years. You may be hit by a buss tomorrow. Enjoy life while you can. ( just read your signature) T of 480 is kind of low for 51. mine is 600 at 83. Have you tried to increase your T. Low T causes heavy belly fat and heart stress. Prostate cancer seems to attack older guys as T starts dropping off.

I hated having to use a VED to get direction after my prostatectomy. My doctor kept saying Give it 18 months, and I used trimix (it never worked, I had to inject 35 units to get a slight reaction. Plus, it hurts a lot).

I started talking to my doctor after 14 months and began researching with physicians here in Southern California. Just as I did when I met the provider, I selected him and his team, which encouraged me to move forward.

I am scheduled for my procedure on May 14, after visiting my family on the East Coast for a week, so I'm just in the lead-up.

I will say that there is some trepidation about it, and I read so in the accounts of how painful it is for the first week/2 weeks or more, but the prostatectomy was pretty intense, so I'm pretty sure I'll be OK with this, too…

Thank you. My tagline is from 10 years ago. My T is still managed with Clomid and checked regularly. It cycles so the level varies pretty greatly; it has gotten quite higher than 480. Forgot my last reading but I remember it was a bit low, but I also remember that has happened before. Been in the 700s for sure at times over the last few years.
When I first got ED and learned about my heart problems (aortic valve stenosis and ultra high CAC score due in large part to ultra high Lp(a) (13 times normal due to genetics)), I freaked out and lost 60 pounds. Not sure how much that contributed to my getting better, but over the last 10 years I have slowly regained most of that weight (still down 15 though). The last 5-10 pounds in particular added belly fat. I suspect getting rid of it again might improve things. That’s my plan.
That being said - yeah, with my heart being as it is, I am unlikely to have a long life. How much of the time I have left do I want to spend wrestling with ED instead of enjoying a good sex life? It’s a question on my mind.
I recently got on a study for an Lp(a) lowering drug and as part of the preliminary testing a coronary CT scan revealed that my CAC progressed very slowly over the last 10 years, putting me from the 99th percentile (top 1% for age) down to the 94th percentile. This was phenomenal news but I also learned I have a severe blockage in the RCA. So I have a lot to think about.
Genetically sky-high Lp(a) of 390 led to various heart diseases. Ultra-low testosterone of 120 (now 480 with Clomid) also contributed to ED at age 41. Managing with daily Cialis, but for me, the implant is a "when", not an "if".
