I'd say absent any patient contacts to confirm his good work you are basically taking a crap shoot. Did you research this uro for any malpractice history? Even if no malpractice suits it doesn't mean he performs implant procedures well because of the waiver you will sign which doesn't guarantee you any size results or quality work (basically that leaves malpractice suits impossible unless he mutilates you)...it will limit your expectations legally. So unless you have proof he does good work what do you know??

When I saw Dr Eid he gave me a book which contained a list of patients who agreed to be contacted by prospective patients and answer any queations they may have (to a limit I imagine).I called a few and they all confirmed that Dr Eid basically saved their sex lives and they were very happy with the results.

I understand you have ED and feel you have nothing to lose. But do you really if you dont get satisfactory results? That does happen and the main concern you should have is infection rate. Do you know your uros infection rate? Maybe you can ask him but his volume is so low the stats
aren't really trustworthy. .the national rate is something like 2-3 %..Dr Eid's
is less than 1%...what im saying is if your uro has 0% on a 10 per year volume then he might be overdue for an infection. ..

Do yourself a huge favor and take the time to find a high volume uro surgeon who will work with you..Dr Eid, Dr Kramer, Dr Gerber (philly) are a few of the top if not the top..have you called them and asked for a consult? You only have one penis. Give yourself the best odds possible!!
54 y/o and suffered from organic ED (peyronies) for 10+ yrs. Pills stopped working, injections too painful and VED not for us.

Tank. How is it that you only have the option of one doctor? Is it because you have an unusual insurance situation or, perhaps travel restrictions. I feel like you are not approaching this with a clear head and worry that you are not ready for a less than "perfect" outcome.

I am sixty-six years of age and dealing with gradually worsening ED for twenty years. At sixty-three I wanted something that worked reliably. I got an AMS 700 LGX implant in 6/25/13. I am entirely pleased with the outcome. My surgeon was Dr. Karpman.

My doc did not have me sign a waiver like the one you describe.

Infections are independent of each other so the fact that a doc has not had one for awhile does not increase the probability that you might get one from his surgery. The probability of you having one is his overall probability regardless of whether he has not had one for awhile or whether his last surgery had one. On the other hand if he is only doing 10 per year it will take many years of data to get a valid probability, assuming his rate is less than 3%.
