Implant at 22 - Serious longevity concern

My worry isn’t the device failing, it’s the corpora eventually being too scarred to accept another one, or erosion preventing replacement. Has anyone hit that wall, or come close? How many devices in were you?

I’m making this decision with the longevity risk in mind. I’d rather live my life while I can.

I am not a long-timer, but I did get implanted in my 30s. Definitely wish I had done it in my 20s.

I will say, Dr Hakky told me that with every revision you should be able to increase size. So that leads me to believe as long as you have a good dr. you should not need to worry about your corpora concern.

At 22, and you live to 70 or more, you will likely see a plethora of tech changes through the years. Who knows what lies ahead? A magic wand to make your penis perform like it should? Who knows?

I am 2 years post-op, and believe I was a little undersized. And that's OK. When I need a revision, I will ask for a little more size....so I have no worries about having to get one. Almost look forward to it.

This is the key fact to accept when choosing to get an implant. Yes you may lose length on a revision (I did), you could have bad luck and encounter stuff like a erosion or infection. When going for the implant, you need to be very confident that entering into these unknowns is better than living with your ED penis as it is now

How much length did you lose with a revision, and how/why did you lose that length? Also, why did your first implant fail after just 3 years?

Probably lost about a half inch at the revision. Not sure why, maybe the surgeon was just less aggressive with sizing than Dr Eid

My original implant didn't fail, but it was a coloplast titan and I just couldn't deal with how plasticky and hard it felt when deflated so I switched to AMS CX
