Thanks for all your prayers and kind thoughts..
Everything went well, the first 12 hours were rocky untill they adjusted the medications for pain. 48 hours post op I have to set a clock to remind me to take medication as I don't need them for pain. Only have soreness.
The little fella looks like he was in a fight and lost
12:30 PM To surgery
03:00 " In room
10:00 AM Dr. Cornell removes catheter
11:00 " Urinated clear
Noon Released and headed home
I now know how to recognize who gets the secret handshake, its their Bionic Walk.
Have some observations I will post later.
Thanks, you have been a great support.

Might as well get used to that 'walk'. Its gonna be with you for a while
. I still got it.
Glad things went well for you. Keep things cool. It helps reduce pain and swelling. Try not to do too much for a while. They probably sent you home in a jock strap like they did me. It helps keep everything from moving around for the first several days. After about a week i switched to Under Armor pouch briefs. Theyre a lot more comfy and still keep you pointed up.
Be well
Mick

Looking forward to an update. I need to return to work part-time after 8 days so anxious to hear how you are doing one week out. Hope and pray your recuperation is going ok.
Age 68 - AMS LGX 12+2cm. Lost over an inch from pre-ED length but thicker for what it's worth (not much). ED result of heart meds.

Re: Friday 14th, Joining the Bionic Brotherhood
Doing real good one week out, will return to regular work on Monday. Let your body and type work be your guide.
Nine days after the operation taking my meds, only two: one for pain and one infection.
Can take pain pill every 4 to 6 hours however have gone 7 hours without taking one before feeling pain. Returning to work depends upon how much lifting, sitting and how much walking you have to do in your job. I would not want to be lifting a lot over 5# the next several weeks nor during a lot of walking, but that depends on how much activity, how much walking around you are doing. after doing a lot of walking around I needed a pain pill @ the 4 hour mark.
BTW: am a part time auditor of retail stores. I can set my own schedule, can come and go as I please, when I want to. Will start lightly Monday and increasing it as the week progresses. My incisions scabbed over and it is flaking off, can shower but cannot bath until 2 weeks out. I'm sure to keep bacteria out of the incision.
Wednesday or 5 days post-op, was driving and running errands like it was a Saturday. You have several bio milestones to reach: BM and peeing. Each represent its own challenges especially at work. Was 6 days before a BM, considering I stopped eating Thursday evening. When it starts you can't be too far away from a bathroom.
Sore and I am swollen. Penis only sore in some places, to the touch, otherwise it's like normal. Can tuck my penis upright and it's not obvious with pleated pants on. The discussion of underwear and peeing should warrant separate threads.
You do not want too sit on your testicles and pump. I will be sitting down gently for a while and making sure that I do not sit on the new equipment, very uncomfortable.

Re: Friday 14th, Joining the Bionic Brotherhood
It is been 4 weeks since my surgery, do not have any consistent pain, every once in awhile I'll have a sharp twinge for a millisecond. Not enough to require medication, just a notice from the little fella, you did something too me.
I am on tylenol 500 milligrams which I was taking twice a day, which I was doing for muscle pain before the operation. I will be activated on Tuesday. Can identify and finger all the parts now without any pain, have not attempted to activate/push anything, just trying to get the lay of the land. My testicles feel about the same way as they did before surgery, in other words they were tender before and they are still tender. Can feel where the RTE are attached to the cylinders, they stick up about an inch from my public bone.
Occasionally, depending on how much walking around I have done, I will get a tired feeling in my penis. Kind of like when you had too much sex, remembering my younger days. In those instances I have taken an additional Tylenol.
Post-op I developed a scab from my hole across my glans. It peeled off and left a slight discoloration on it. I talked to Dr Cornell and it was a result of the ureatha incision he used to pull the cylinders up to the glan. ( I went back and watched some IPP operations and saw the doctors pull the cylinders into the glan). This week I did try taking 1.25 milligrams of daily cialis and had a glan erection. Pre-op I would have an erection and I could feel the erection and I wondered whether that feeling would go away with the IPP. I have found that I still have the feeling of an erection with a glan erection. YAHOO
Looking forward to activation on Tuesday, saved a Tramadol tablet in anticipation of pain.

--------------------------------------------------
Was activated Tuesday, given my AMS KeyRing and told by Doctor Cornell it is fit for service, i.e., intercourse/masterbation. Go forth and recycle!
In reality am a little sore and I think I am a couple of weeks from any activity WITHOUT PAIN. The activation obviously breaks apart some scar tissue, hence the pain. It was not unbearable because I took meds in anticipation.
I relate the pain experienced when inflating the IPP to pumping to the limit (max pressure) in the VED. When I reached what Dr. Dineen terms "the burn", as in the VED you released the pressure when it became uncomfortable, you do the same with the deflate button.
Dr. Cornell said what I thought were the RTE are deeper in my body. He said I still had some swelling and the scrotum skin would toughen. I think I will get stronger thumbs/fingers over the coming months. At the beginning the pump is rock hard, seems to get softer after repeated squeeze and then harder again. No problems locating the pump and release button, just have to be careful not to squeeze skin or the incision line (still tender).
Am happy with the results, i.e., so far do good and I like what I see.
Yes, would do it again in a heart beat.

Re: Friday 14th, Joining the Bionic Brotherhood
I posted on another thread......
Was activated on Tuesday and started the Post-Op VED protocol. Those on the VED protocol start cycling at 9 to 12 days however I followed Dr. Cornell, which was 32 days.
" on the VED protocol the patient started to use the device at 9 to 14 days, they are instructed to daily inflate the device as much as possible for a period of up to one hour. Initially many patients will only inflate for 7 to 10 minutes due to discomfort but the theory is that as much inflation as possible, for as long as possible, influence the cylinder capsule to form around the inflated cylinder rather than the deflated cylinder. Post-operative inflation is emphasize strongly if a lenghtening cylinder is implanted. Capsule development is thought to be complete at three months following surgery and the daily inflations can cease." (from Dr. Dineen's paper " vacuum preparation optimization of the cyclinder length and post-operative daily inflation reduces com..plaints of shorten penile length following implantation of inflatable penile prosthesis")
I started the VED protocol 9 weeks before my operation in the hopes that it would minimize the pain and limit the loss of length. In Dr. Dineen ' s paper he talks about the patients uses the vacuum pump pre-op, to the point of feeling a slight burn, this is the stretching of the penis tissue. Post-op inflation feels the same for me as you are breaking the scarf tissue built around the cyclinders.
Was activated on Tuesday, Dr. Cornell suggested inflating and deflating three times a day, each time increasing the pumps by one. By Thursday was able to flatten my pump bulb for 60 minutes, Friday for 45 minutes and Saturday 90 minutes. So maybe the reductions in pain is working for me. NOTE: it is the pain is similar to pre-op vacuuming to the max pressure limit, mine was 15 (in.hg) and trying to hold it there. Actually it maybe uncomfortable but I am do things that distract me from watching the clock. Plus I do my kegels, if I think I need to push the deflate button. According to Dr. Cornell I still have some swelling which probably accounts for some soreness especially around the incision.
I do not agree with Dr. Dineen when he said that maximum benefits were reached at 3 months. Probably about the time his study money ran out Those on FT have said that enlargement has continued up to 18 to 24 months. That said, I will try to do a minimum of 1 hour each day for the next 2 months. I find it relatively easy to pump up during my morning shower and maintain it through my shaving & grooming.
