AMS or Coloplast, OR decision

My surgeon does primarily AMS, but did a Titan for me after I mentioned I'd seen something about more girth, and that I had more girth since Peyronies. I hope decision wasn't just made to placate me.

The AMS LGX will gain length over time, but just as with other implants, that length is restricted by the length of the tunica. A guy won't get any longer than his tunica will allow.

I talked at length with an AMS tech person last week. He told me about all of the experiments done over the last 30 years trying to find ways to lengthen the tunica. They're tried artificial material, tissue from pigs, and more. Nothing has worked yet. It seems so simple, but I guess it's not.

One more fact to consider is that AMS has a slow-releasing antibiotic coating which reduces a chance of infection. So if your general healing process is rather slow then AMS might be a safer choice.

I had forgotten till this was mentioned in the last post that the antibiotic coating was one of the reasons I originally wanted an AMS too.

Most surgeons have a preference in both type of implant (AMS vs. Coloplast) and procedure (Infrapubic vs. Peniscrotal). This is true in any profession.
