I read a study about when to activate an implant. The study performed activations at 2 weeks and 4 weeks, etc.
The conclusion to the study was that is it better to activate at 2 weeks but it is not feasible to do so because of the pain involved.
Therefore they didn't recommend 2 week inflation. I wish I could have already been activated, but too sore.
What would you do differently (pre surgery)

You wouldn't develop scar tissue that could limit girth until many many months down the road."
Thx for that!!!

I hate to say it - but if I was doing it again I would not have it put in via a cut in my scrotum. My testicals and the healing of my scrotum caused me extreme discomfot for many weeks after. ( all very worth it). I would go to Dr. Perito in Miami as he does not cut the scrotum - rather he goes in above the pubic bone. He goes in from the top rather than from the bottom. Good luck!!!
Either way - this surgery will change your life!!!
Well, that is a debatable opinion. Not necessarily wrong, but not necessarily right either. I remember reading an article by I think it was Dr. Garber, listing pros and cons of infrapubic vs scrotal.
And there sure are pros and cons with both. If I remember right, one main advantage with infrapubic is for obese people. It will be easier for the doc to place the reservoir properly. Advantage with scrotal is obviously easier to place the pump and its tubing correctly. There were more pros and cons of both, but these are the ones I can remember. Also have a vague memory that for people with diabetes, infrapubic was preferable. Don't remember the reason why though. For those interested, I think I have linked to that article somewhere in my thread 'My Journal'.
I can't recall it said anything about healing time. But my case (scrotal insertion), for whatever it is worth, ended up with a great result, but with very bad scrotal pain for the first two weeks. On the other hand, looking back at it now, who gives a shit about those two weeks? All that matters is a good result.
And furthermore, despite the scrotum pain, I started inflating and deflating daily within two weeks, and started having sex after three weeks. So the pain did not interfere with using the implant.
