Penile Implant specialist here! As far as recovery time goes from my experience of performing this procedure many, many times, after one week of recovery, most of the discomfort and swelling is over and 95% of patients are free of pain medications. At three weeks, patients are completely healed, and they are ready to be trained on inflating the device. At four weeks, patients are safe to proceed with normal sexual intercourse.
Thrilled to hear about so many happy penile implant patients here!

Re: one week post op
I am 4 days out of surgery, I too am interested in any pain from the pump. The pump seems large but I am willing to wait and see. Walking around with an erection is different, minor pain in the penis.
Aside from some pain when sitting on some hard seats, I am doing very well.
I have a couple of pictures on my thread, they are low res. Any suggestions with my higher res pics is appreciated.
congrats on your decision

Re: one week post op
hello to all, I am 3 days out of the operation.
Just checked out of the hospital today, in fact.
Finding that the challenges are both physical (pain) and mental (stress, paranoia, anxiety).
My balls are black and blue, and sleeping is tough, its 1300h as i write this...
There is a bend or kink in the device which is causing me some concern.
Not major, but enough to cause doubts. Hopefully this is normal, and that regular inflation will (literally) straighten things out!

18 cm +1 tip; AMS 700 CX installed on June 15, 2017. 53 years old. Canada.
Willing to discuss and answer questions, but probably too early to have much insight (yet).
Currently in very early days, not yet activated...

Hello fellow Canadian, where are you and who was your surgeon?

Re: one week post op
hello Larry,
Thanks four the rapid response.
I live in Ottawa, but for the moment, I think I'll be silent on the surgeon.
Actually, today, Saturday, its day 3. Surgery was on Thursday morning.
There seems to be a lot of discussion on who's who (surgeons) on this site, so i think that I'll keep that private for now at least.
Suffice to say, he is a recognized practitioner in this field.

There is a lot of "my guy is better than your guy". I live just down the road from you in Belleville but drove the 7 hours to London to get Gerald Brock. He is a great surgeon, has lots of experience in implants. and very well respected by fellow urologists. There is another Canadian (Joe) on here, who also has Dr. Brock.

Been using pump for years and I never felt any bad, for the first timer you will feel a little discomfort but in the long run, you will get used to it. "No pain, No gain"
