Help with Titan OTC
Re: Help with Titan OTC
On my first post surgery visit he said....'every time you urinate, feel for the pump and start pulling down'.......Dr. Perito said he believes the Genesis pump is the best....

Re: Help with Titan OTC
Swelling is gone and I still can't find the pads, I can feel the inflate bulb and whatever is on top and here is my problem, commparing pictures of the OTR, there 2 places that resemble the pads in the pictures and in the the model I saw at the doctors, but pressing in both locations I get no response.
I would like to know how much space is in between the bulb and the deflate buttons.
If you touch with the index finger the top of the inflate pump, how much up are the pads approximately.
Thank you
Shaman

Re: Help with Titan OTC
Shaman: I have titan and above the bulb, is a "crossbar" there is a raised button on one side and a depressed area on the opposite side. The distance is around one inch. Rotate the bulb so you can get a thumb on one side and a forefinger on the other. Squeeze the fingers together (it does not take a lot of pressure) Simultaneously, with the other hand squeeze the penis like squeezing an bannana. you should feel the pressure decreasing. When it feels like it is empty, press the (hopefully now limp penis) back toward your abdomen. When that feels like it has drained the penis, give the bulb one firm squeeze to reseat the valve. I do not have an OTR so this is for the conventional titan release valve.
Hope this helps

Re: Help with Titan OTC
Thank you for your reply, I will try again tomorrow using your information.
I remember with the AMS, I also had trouble at the beginning, I thought that having used the AMS for 2 years would make it easier with the Titan but I was wrong.
Thank you

Re: Help with Titan OTC
my Titan is a "Titan touch", on that model, there is a depressed dish-like pad on one side, and a raised "nipple" pad on the other. The nipple is what you need to depress forcefully for about 5 seconds to get the device to deflate.
Coloplast does have a rubber "keychain" pump simulator which is just like the real thing and is designed so you can learn exactly what the pads feel like and what they look like. Playing with this simulator was key for me to get the function properly. Try to get a "keychain pump simulator" from you urologist or coloplast rep.
Show below are a couple of pictures from the coloplast site. To see the directions from coloplast, go to:
https://www.coloplastmd.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/PM-00043-Titan-Touch-Inflate-Deflate_Final.pdf
Figure 1 (above) the coloplast titan touch pump has a "nipple" bump on one end and a "concave dish" on the other end (in this case the dish is hidden since it is pointing own to the table surface)
Figure 2 (above) There are three models of the Titan pump: "Titan", "Titan OTR", "Titan Touch". See above for schematic drawings.

Re: Help with Titan OTC
Thank you for your reply, I tried yesterday again without success, perhaps the pump is backwards, having had the AMS, it never occurred to me that I was going to have such issues deflating. With the AMS, I had the keychain and I used it frequently until I found the button. Since the doctor did not offer one, it never occurred to me that Coloplast would have the same.
I emailed Coloplast and asked for one.
I have a doctor appointment next week just for deflation, since is far away, I wanted to avoid the trip and I can only cancel if I get deflated. I have to wait until tomorrow to try again, I got sore yesterday for trying to hard in many places.
Thank you
Shaman

Re: Help with Titan OTC
I suggest that you try to find "the nipple" on the deflate pad (it is the bump on the picture), unless you can feel the nipple, then you are in the wrong place. Deflate works well, but you do need your fingers in exactly the correct place (this all assumes that you have "Titan Touch", I am not sure if Titan OTR has the nipple (just am unaware))

Re: Help with Titan OTC
Depending on the level of pseudo capsulation, the pin pointing of the button can be affected. My firs 2 were so easy to identify. This third is very difficult, even for me that I have experienced it enough. BTW, all are AMS.

Re: Help with Titan OTC
I don't know about the "Genesis" pump. Never heard of it. I had the Titan installed in February, 2017. They gave me a keychain, and a card describing the "Titan Touch." The pictures Tangerine posted are exactly right. The deflate part is right above the pump, just like the picture, maybe 3/8" up.
It is very easy to get the thing sideways between your fingers. Get it between thumb and forefinger, and be sure one finger feels the slight hollow, while the other feels the little bump clearly shown in the photo. If both fingers feel the same thing but on opposite sides, you have it rotated 90 degrees. The fingers should feel different things, one a bump and the other a slight hollow. It doesn't matter which finger is on which, because you are going to just squeeze the fingers together. You probably won't feel the release happen, except with the other hand you are squeezing the penis and you will feel it go right down, pfft.
Yes, the whole thing is very stiff, and it is scary when you can't get the right hold on it and you sit there with a serious hardon that won't go away. I had a bad time with it myself, but once I got the hang of it, it is just fine.
