Icing post surgery to minimize the swelling, no more then 20 minutes at a time.

I stopped icing when all the swelling went down.

I'm confused as to why you wanted to know about a heating pad. I only needed ice

I used frozen peas, with one set in the freezer. Wrapped them in towels. I had one under each ball and one on top until the swelling went away. In the beginning I left on as needed, including sleeping with them.

Good luck.

The heat loosens up the pump and possibly aids in the healing process.

And it feels really good.

Best Heatpad:Why?

Postby roninhouston » Fri Mar 23, 2018 10:55 pm

Did not use any heat, ice was my friend and felt good. Heat seems like it would cause pain.
Did not need to loosen up my pump. The pump will appear softer as your fingers get stronger with repetitive squeezes.

Seems like a heater would be an extra device I don't need in the bed. I can imagine saying, " wait a minute honey as I plug in my heater, so that I can warm up my pump, so I can pump up my dick".

I know the pumps are tested for repetitive squeezing but do not know how that impacts their life if you add heat to them.

I think he means heat post surgery just to aid healing. Im just not sure when you switch from ice to stop swelling to heat to improve blood flow and aid in repair?

Cold is for swelling, but it is effective the first three days. After that, it is more for comfort that anything else. This is not just for penile implant, but for anything else related to swelling.

On the other hand, heat is more of a healing promoting, and helps on the softening of the tissues around the external implant components.

Yup, correct. Ice for swelling and heat when you start cycling to soften up the pump and soothe the scrotum for when you start squishing on it. :)

No, not for sex... to soften things up when you start cycling. Where did you get your medical training? How long was your training? Mine was two years at Centennial College in Toronto and confirmed by my local urologist.
