I think you're fine listing the name of the site as long as it's not a hot link.

Thanks for the info. The site I was referring to is Good RX. I've seen it before while online and thought it was just one of those scam BS sites until I saw information cards about it at my urologists office. I spoke to him about it and he says it saves money. All our pharmacies have them in there system, all you need is their code, which you can get without even signing up or giving any personal info.

Goodrx is basically just a referral service. They crunch the pricing from participating pharmacies in your area. I had a friend that thought that his little local pharmacy would match prices. They laughed at him. They'd didn't participate in the program.
Its been my experience on my drugs in my area. Walmart's Goodrx price is either the lowest or almost the lowest.
Goodrx is reputable. Remember, they do not sell the drugs. Only refer you.

Not sure what you mean by a referral service -- I went to the site, and put in my location, every pharmacy in the area showed up and listed the prices. When I went to the pharmacy, the entered the Good Rx number as my insurance and the price I quoted on the site was what I paid. Much cheaper than my insurance co-pay and over 80% less than what the obscene cash price was.

You just described exactly what a "referral" is. You asked for a drug quote in your area. Goodrx gave you the prices, you went, you bought. Goodrx gets a fee for directing customers to pharmacies. Goodrx did not charge you a fee nor did they sell you the meds. They merely brought a paying customer in the front door. Goodrx gets paid a percentage based on what you bought.
Depending on what industry/region you're in. It can be called by lots of names. Kickback fee, finders fee or my favourite....spiff. Several family members are tied into the automotive industry. Mainly in parts & autobody. Spiff makes the car industry run. Find out an acquaintance is looking for a car. Give him a note to go see Joe over at WegougeU dealership. Call Sam at the dealership & say your sending somebody over. Joe will inquire about how important the friend is to you. Not much of a friend = not much of a deal. If the car is purchased then Sam will swing by & gift you some $$. Small $$ then friend was a tough negotiator. Bigger $$ then friend got dragged thru the fire.
Dealerships love to offer financing. The banks kickbacks to the dealership more $$ if the salesman can convince you that 15% apr is the best you qualify for. Bank says your a 12% risk but we're getting 15%. Out comes the commission wallet = happy dealership.
I bought a car during the winter. I did my own pre approval at my credit union at I think 6.5%. Dealership wrote it up at 12%. I didn't care. 2-3 days later I dropped into the cu. Sure enough, when the loan came thru they honored the pre approved rate. I pulled kickback out from under the dealership cause kb on 6.5%s way lower than on 15%. I negotiating a lower sales price because the sales manager thought he could make it up on the interest kickback. I paid the loan off in a few weeks so the cu pulled back ALL of the interest kickback because there was very little interest paid. That action is generally called a "clawback".
That my friend gives a small view on how referrals work. You just saw a different side of it.
Btw, I like Goodrx. I use it so much that the girl at Walmart has my name & date of birth memorized. She applies the Goodrx discount without me even showing her the number or asking for the discount.
