Let me add one other thing here for you. Like you, before my situation was really bad. I could have sex, but due to my Peyronies, I had to use pills, could only do certain positions, absolutely always worried about my dick breaking in half and ending up in the ER. It progressively got worse with time. What started as a minor symptom ended with major problems that made sex not safe regardless of position. It was clear I was only getting worse and not better.
Here’s what I think you should consider:
About halfway into my situation, I was asking questions exactly like yours. Should I get an implant if I can still have SOME sex, even if it’s not the sex I used to be able to have? A wise man once said these words to me, “if you have to question it, it’s probably not time for an implant yet”. He was right. At that time, it wouldn’t have made sense to get one. Fast forward another 6 months after my condition worsened, I couldn’t have sex at all, always thought about my broken dick, and honestly felt like I lost part of myself everytime I talked to a woman. At this point, it was a no brainer to move forward with the implant. My condition was only worsening, I couldn’t really have sex, my penis looks terrible, I had nothing to lose. It was an easy decision. Everytime I’d think about backing out, I was immediately reminded that the alternative is to live with a broken dick that doesn’t work.
So for you, maybe the answer is just chill out for a bit? The implant option is always on the table, it’s not going anywhere. I’d say until you’re at a point where you can’t have sex, just wait. When I say can’t have sex, that means for any number of reasons: stability issues, can’t stay up, curve issues, etc. As you said, if you DO have something to lose, you’ll be more likely to question your decision. I’m day 5 post op and still happy with my decision, but also in the phase where I’m asking wtf did I do. From what I hear, 3 months in and it’s like having a new mind. One where you don’t worry about your dick.
