How do you come to the conclusion of less infection risk? All of the components are the same…cylinders, reservoir, and pump, with the addition of some kind of electronic controller. Infection risk seems identical to me.

Maybe there is a reason this has not been on the marked for quiet some time, could it be the main producers know the digital system would be far more reliable than the analog we are using now, which results in much less revisions and sold devices or is it because we are a niche marked which has its limitations with cost versus earning.

I think these companies have other more important and lucrative projects to allocate their funds to than penile implants. I suspect Boston Scientific is the largest of the three and I know it's involved in all kinds of medical robotics-related stuff.

I'd be surprised if device is not simplified and the pump in the scrotum is still a part of the implant. I don't see why it wouldn't turn into a two piece device with reservoir directly connected to cylinders with all the water shift and (hopefully) failsafe functions as part of it. We'll see.

Eid is about my age, maybe a bit older. I personally would be more interested to know what the younger implanters, like Hakky, Clavell, those even younger and coming up think about it.

The way I size up who I would and wouldn't consult with in regards to any penile implant-related innovations is by looking at the Rigicon clinical trial page.

Those doctors who are part of the trial and are actively implanting the new device I consider more open to trying and testing an innovation and consequently more knowledgable about its pros and cons.

The opinions of those who are not doing that I'd be suspect of practically by default, irrespective of how famous and well regarded they are.

Elbow the conclusion is easy, like I wrote if you can implement the micro pump inside the reservoir and even if not, a micro pump has far less surface compared to the thing we now carry between our balls and if you can place it inside the reservoir its completely gone out of the way for infections.
Less or no surface means less, risk for infection. the same for less incisions. Shorter way and less cables for tubing is same result.
No cut in scrotum means faster recovery because your sack does not need time to heel.

I hope this is real news. Science is working to improve, and there's nothing stopping those who oppose continuing with today's "old implants." It's better to have more options on the market. I believe this system will lead to: 1. fewer ruptures/revisions; 2. fewer infections; 3. no pump in the testicles; 4. ease of use. We've had pacemakers since 1958, with batteries that are replaced every 10 years. Why not have a Bluetooth pump after 68 years? The battery could be implanted in a quiet spot, where it can be replaced with a small, routine incision.
