Also 11x stronger is unlikely to equate to 11x more life. If a typical failure involves a force that exceeds the current tubing strength by 5x, it might equate to significant longer life. But what if the typical failure event is a tubing bend that exceeds the tube strength by 20x? In that case 11x stronger tubing will likely fail under the exact same load. We don’t really know.

I’m hopeful it will be far more durable, and I suspect it will be, but there’s a lot we won’t know and can’t know until there are a large number of the devices installed and in use by real-world patients.


Does tubing really even fail that often? Both times when my implant failed, it was the left cylinder. I will however wait until this model is available in the US, then see if Dr. Karpman can install it.


For the Titan, the tubing is the primary point of failure (the cylinders have a near 0% chance of breaking). AMS models use different materials with failures possibly happening at multiple regions.


That is no good lol. I will have to get a Titan as Dr.Karpman only does those now apparently
