However communications with UK consultants is awful and not very personable.

I'd have to disagree, at least my own experience doesn't tally with this so far. I'm based in West Yorkshire and was referred to Oliver Kayes at St James University Hospital, Leeds by my consultant urologist who had gone as far as he could in helping with my 'complex Peyronie's disease' and ED diagnosis. Mr Kayes has been very communicative, very personable, and during our last extended consultation put forward his recommendations: Coloplast Titan implant and reconstruction (grafting) during the same surgery. I'm now awaiting my pre-surgical assessment and specialist nurse counselling before getting my surgery date. I certainly get the feeling that we are behind the US in terms of specialists who just do implants, but that's not to say there aren't surgeons who understand the process - and while I agree that there can be something of a mindset difference between private care and the NHS (and this chap does both) perhaps I am lucky in that this surgeon seems very patient-focused whatever. I haven't felt like I'm getting second-class treatment by being an NHS patient, let's put it that way.
