I really don't know the average dose of mcg of alprostadil. But I will use Edex as an example. Edex generally comes in 10 or 20 or 40 mcg cartridges. Each cartridge is considered a dose but you don't have to inject the whole dose. Each cartridge is one whole ml. So, if I ASSUME the Edex offerings represent average doses. I think that should be a fairly safe assumption as that's obviously what the market demands. So then, average doses are 10, 20 or 40mcg. You're doing 3.
I'm currently using 11.2mcg with a novelty silicone ring. I started out doing a full Edex 20. Well I actually started with Edex 10s after my RRP but they didn't work t the time. Pills didn't work at all and I'd been using was a VED. The doctor started me on the 10s and they did very little. Then he switched me to the 20s and they started working but with some ache. My insurance initially rationed the Edex cartridges but then they stopped covering Edex altogether.
That's when I discovered compounded mono-mix. After that I started experimenting with doses as I was no longer restricted to the very expensive Edex cartridges. I learned I could reduce my dose to about 17 mcg and then later I eventually learned that with proper injection technique and a novelty cock ring I could reduce my dose down to my current level of 11.2mcg and no ache.
