For the first 12 months we can deal directly with the UCLH. After 12 months we have to have our GP refer us back.

I guess that covers any issues that could potentially lead to a revision.

I would like to eventually save the money so if I needed a revision I would go straight to Dr Ralph and Dr Lee and get it done ASAP privately.

Thank you for the swift reply! That sounds reasonable. Do you know the approximate cost of an implant surgery when done privately through Dr.Ralph and his team?

I've asked my GP to refer me to UCLH as of yesterday. Could you shed any light on approximate timeline for being seen and implanted?

I'm seriously considering finance and going privately. I am worried about subsequent costs of revisions etc if not done through the NHS.

That's good you have done the GP referral. This gives you both the private and NHS option.

Now you can book privately with Dr Ralph as another guy did that told me he went to the UCLH (his advice really helped --I wouldn't have it done yet). Pay about £300 for a consultation and then you'll get quicker advice about your situation, NHS and private costs.

This is his website -- https://www.david-ralph.co.uk/

Check out my NHS journey thread https://www.franktalk.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21220 as that will help you about my timeline and steps. I just checked it, and it was about one year from the doctor's referral to surgery.

Update --

So I am due to attend a follow up 7th March but spoke to the consultant yesterday about my concern about the reservoir and mentioned the discomfort from the dog ear sections.

He said when we inflate you can inflate to reduce dog ears.

Anyway, me being me, and not the most patient and not a good follower of following the rules -- I tried a few pumps.

I tried a few pumps which eased of the dog ears, but before any further pumping I wanted to see if I could deflate. Deflating was tricky then I found out the way.

Me being me, I pumped it up to about 70% (I'm not sure how much it was) and then decided to give myself some much needed relief.

And, it was above great. A harder erection I've had since I don't know and I was able to ejaculate.

All sensitivity is kind of better that pre op. And the glans etc. swell fine.

I'm absolutely over the moon. This thing is a tool

No. Uclh screwed my implant twice massively undersizing it. Supposedly best doctors in Europe. Terrible service. Had to pay to see rhe same surgeons privately for them to admit something was wrong then got referred back to uclh. Dr ralph did my latest implant which I was somewhat happy with. Still slightly shorter than where the glans is. But it was usable. However it has just failed and I'm scared of losing size or another surgeon not sizing correctly again.

Blimey, that is unfortunate. Sorry to hear you've had a rough ride with it all.

Who did your first implant? Which surgeon?

Dr Muneer, did the first 18cm with 2cm rte. Garaffa at 22cm no rte. And Ralph at 24cm no rte. All denying that there was any problems.

They gave me a consultation date late August so I've decided to go privately before my penis loses size and irreparable damage. Nhs have lost all my respect.
29 years old. Suffered with ED since 17. No known cause. First Implanted date 23/3/2018. Cylinders way too short and revised by different surgeon 2019. 22cm titan.
Cylinders still short and now pump is upside down and protruding. Awaiting 3rd revision

How does the size and hardness compare to the hardest erections you've ever had naturally?

Thanks

The size in length is under at the moment (less than a inch under). Im not sweating that as most gain it back after cycling.

It's as hard as when I was a teenager.

The only dislike so far is the oval shape. That is either the trade off or I will improve that in time.

Size is the same, little longer after 9 months of cycling. Hardness is comparable to my 18 year old self. Very hard, or not depending on how much i max it out. Doggy i like a little less, cowgirl and missionary I like maxed out.
