My first injection (at the doc's office) was 30 units. Turned out that was PLENTY for my teeny weenie, but he told me I could go up to 40 or 50 without asking. As a matter of fact, I was able to reduce dosage down over about a month to where I settled in at about 6 units. But that's a very low dosage. It is my understanding that a 20, 30, 40 unit dose is well within the range of normal. Please don't give up.

I am at that level too... 5 to 6 units give me plenty of wood. I even do 3 units for solo.

UPDATE:
Injected 30 units last week with same disappointing results. Will try 45 units later this week and advise results. Starting to get discouraged. However, I have been getting really good results with my new Osbon cock ring. Unfortunately, sensation fades quickly after 10 minutes.

May I ask you if your doctor has done a venous loss (Dobbler) or (Utrasound) test to see if there is a problem?

I failed that test badly and injections would not work for me at all. Pump turns out to be a waste of time and effort due to the loss. I will get my implant on 9/2/11.

I questioned him about it, but he seemed to feel he should try the treatments (Testim, daily Cialis and now Trimix. I started to loose confidence in his methods until this morning when 45 units did the trick, at least for my erection quality.

I used my pump this morning and slid on my trusty Osbon cock ring and proceeded to have fun with my wife for about fifteen minutes with an 85% erection until my dick started to loose sensitivity and became painful at the site of the cock ring. I can usually go for 20 minutes at 90%. I removed the ring and watched my dick quickly loose engorgement and turn into a 50% semi. After 15 minutes of rest I decided to try 45 units of Trimix. After 10 minutes, I was up to an 80% without assistance (best I have achieved without assistance of constriction in a several years) so I slipped on the Osbon and achieved a 90% erection but again encountered loss of sensitivity and pain at the constriction site.

I removed the Osbon and it only deflated to 80%. Waited about 10 minutes (my wife is very patient and understanding) and penetrated my wife from the rear (spoon position). Kegeled in some more blood and low and behold, I had a 95% erection that lasted over 30 minutes. It probably would have lasted longer if we had not run out of energy. Except for a slight aching in my shaft, the only down side was that I was never able to orgasm, but that could have been a result of the cock ring and desensitization. However, thirty minutes of unconstricted 95% erection is a 100% improvement over anything I have experienced in several years.

Questions for experienced users:
How long does it take trimix to generate a hard erection?
Should I try 50 units and try for a 100% erection?
Stay with the 45 units?
Try reducing to 35 units?

Now I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV, but based on my experience, here are my thoughts for next time:

Use the pump if you wish just to get some chubby going. Not really necessary, but it might give you a head start. Pun intended. The effects of Trimix are chemical imperatives. The rest is psychological.
Inject 50 units. for future episodes, keep using the 50 units unless you're having a 6 hour hard-on or something. then slowly taper down until you find the optimum dosage. I have found that the longer I use trimix, and the more often I use it, the less it takes to give me the results I want. Now there's a good side effect!
Massage Little D up and down--as if you're trying to spread the drug up and down the chamber. Use lube. Visual stimulation might help, either live or taped. Maybe you can even get sometone else to do the massaging. Tee Hee Think sexy thoughts. The most important sex organ is your mind. Lie on your side or sit in a chair (rather than lying on your back) during the arousal process. don't let gravity and/or hydraulic pressure work against you. Engage in whatever foreplay floats your boat.
You should have vey good wood in 10 to 15 minutes or less. Try doing the deed this time without using rings.
Now that you have a a nice blue veiner, use your imagination. At least twice. The more you stroke, the harder it should get.

As one who has a "thing" about needles I greatly appreciated your injection sequence.

However I do have a question: From your photos it seems to me that the needle (ouch) goes into the penis to a depth of about half an inch,
is this correct and if so is it really true that this is relatively painless?

Cotham....
I find injecting 'almost' painless... that means I feel the prick only on the outside layer of skin.... but after that, no pain.
Many of the guys say it is painless... i still grit my teeth for the first bit... it is all worth it
The needle has to go deep enough to reach the cavernosa where it does its work. I found out all you get is burning and redness if you inject too shallow.
I assume your urologist will be doing the first injection for you... don't hesitate to ask all the questions you can think of.

Hurricane Irene not withstanding, I tried 50 units early this morning and achieved a 95 - 100% erection for the first time in over 15 years. Full erection lasted well over an hour and even after a cool shower, 60% erection continued for at least three hours until it finally settled down into a chubby. I guess I will drop down to 45 units next time.

I use a 5/16" 31 gauge insulin needle. Very slight discomfort (like a prick) when inserting the needle and a little more when pushing in the trimix. After a minute or two there is an aching feeling that develops inside the shaft. This morning I also had some minor bleeding at the site which stopped almost immediately when I dabbed it with a tissue. Not sure what causes the aching which still exists after 4 hours. Could be the injection itself or maybe a trimix side effect. Perhaps an experienced injector can shed some light on the persistent aching. In my opinion, the injection of trimix into the penis is slightly more painful than when I inject insulin into my abdomen, which is very slight.
