In Baltimore, I ended up with a pump high and tubes on the left. Dr. Kramer said high pumps are no issue for most guys and I've heard of others that left Baltimore that way. He said the pump was high because he put the implant in without RTEs to maximize rigidity. But I don't know. Dr. Knoll said I do have one RTE per side and my wallet card said that. Somehow, somebody, a nurse or company rep must have handed him the wrong thing.
Anyway, the pump and tubes were in the way of intercourse, so Dr. K agreed we'd do a revision. He had previously sent me to Dr. Knoll so I could do my activation closer to home. When it came time for the revision, I asked if it would be ok to have Dr. Knoll do it, because he's done more implants than Kramer (he's 20 years older too). Point is, he's experienced, even though his approach is infra-pubic.
After talking with Knoll, Dr. Kramer felt good about having him do the work.
Did it work? I don't know. The tubes are in the back, no longer on the side. The pump is lower and he stitched it in place so it wouldn't migrate. However, it still seems, after a month, to be sitting in with the left testicle and feels like there's other tissue around it. So, it's hard to find the deflate and separate the pump from the left. Dr. Knoll and Dr. Kramer tell me to be patient, but I would think after a month, any internal swelling would be gone. The scrotum is back to normal size.
I see Dr. Knoll Monday. I don't know what will happen. I hope I don't need a 3rd revision but I have heard where guys have had to. I guess it's not a science, more of an art.'
I like both doctors and they are both high-volume and at the top of the field. Kramer does lots of revisions and Knoll supposedly is who AMS sends their revisions to (I've heard).
I will be updating my thread once I've been to Nashville next Monday.
