It took a few weeks of following up with the surgeon's office to get a response. Small rant & some thoughts.
I got an ultrasound which apparently did not show anything unusual.
The surgeon didn't reply to me, but made some kind of response to what he thought I had said. I suppose this can be one downside with dealing with a high volume surgeon. You're a number, and since certain issues are recoccuring, patterns build up in the surgeon's mind and they might mistake what you're saying for a common pattern and respond to that, thus ignoring or being blind to the issue.
It's understandable, since so many people might be contacting them in a panicked state that they have to habituate a way to deal with it in an ongoing manner. But if you fall outside that group, and yet are placed in it, it's an incredibly frustrating experience.
The surgeon said (paraphrased) that 'the bump is caused by scarring around the hernia mesh inserted at the time of surgery to prevent the resevoir from herniating. If the obvious bump is an issue, it can be surgically excised.'
However, I wrote nothing about a bump. I wrote originally about pain. A disruption to my lifestyle. Since I can not work out or run that much. The pain can return when laughing or walking for a while.
I am hoping that the healing process can continue even eight months later since this is a pretty bad result. Not being able to work out at gym. It illustrates potential complications of the surgery.
I'm slim, but not in an absurd way. I'm ~170cm & ~63kg. The method was infrapubic which should've made it easier to install the resevoir and yet I still have what I'd consider a fairly serious issue.
Will update.
