Did Clomid (or Anything Else) Correct Your Low Libido?

Postby alterr » Sun Jun 24, 2018 7:26 pm

Has anyone had low libido and was corrected with Clomid or testosterone injection therapy?
ED since 1996. Peyronies in 2012. PRP in 2013 and 2017. Dr. Brock, urology, NC, USA. Cialis and Viagra stopped working since 10/2017. Haven't been on Trimix since 3/2016. Will consider injecting it again. Will be prescribed testosterone injections soon.

Testosterone injections have jumped my libido to the top of the roof. Thinking about sex all the theme now. Love it.

My T level was 130 or so before Clomid - “near castrate level”, I was told. I do not know how long it was that low for, but I became rather abruptly almost completely impotent at the age of 41.

Clomid brought it up to the high 400s, which is still kind of low. However, grsdually, over months, my erections became functional again. While they are not what they once were, they do the job, with a little help from Cialis (2.5 mg EOD). Understand that when I first started the Clomid, even 5 mg Cialis every day was not enough to get me functional.

Clomid comes with side effects because of the Zuclomiphene isomer, which does not help us but which the FDA has apparently forced us to take if we want enclomiphene, as they keep blocking the approval of a “new drug” Androxal which is really just enclomiphene without the zuclomiphene isomer. Because of this many guys find their libido flagging on Clomid, even as T levels rise. My libido is still about the same but it never really flagged - however I do get anxiety with Clomid (or maybe PTSD from going suddenly impotent at 41, or learning that I have two kinds of heart disease that will ultimately make me impotent and shorten my life).
Genetically sky-high Lp(a) of 390 led to various heart diseases. Ultra-low testosterone of 120 (now 480 with Clomid) also contributed to ED at age 41. Managing with daily Cialis, but for me, the implant is a "when", not an "if".

Alterr. Bare in mind that once you start testosterone injections you will have to stay on them forever to maintain that level. And your natural production will be shut down.

Nocturn's last post is quite instructive. People using Clomid should do some research and re-think using it.. It actually brings the testosterone to castrate levels ...

I am aware of that. My T level was as 125 which is the reason that I started on TRT. Thanks for the warning for others that may not know.

Testosterone therapy made a huge difference! Not just libido but also energy level, optimism. And I noticed physical effects too. I have put on muscle, look a bit leaner, and I am sprouting chest and body hair that had gradually disappeared. It is like being a teenager again. I am going through puberty a second time (only this time no acne.)

There are down sides. I was advised that I need to be followed as higher testosterone levels might lead to an increased risk of prostate cancer. Regular check ups and PSA levels are needed.

I was warned that my testicles will atrophy and shrink because the therapy is now doing their job. That is really undesireable, but my boys were not doing their job anyway. Little to lose there and much to gain elsewhere.

Good luck as you seek treatment.

I think libido is just as mental as hormonal. I cannot get any erctions st all but think about girls all the time. I date girls in their 20’s and 30’s and man that hard body and sweet pussy keeps up my libido for sure. I never tested my testosterone and never will. As long as my excitement is up I’m good.
All the best.

Mt replacement. T injections made a world of difference for me. I still wanted sex...liked thinking about sex while my levels were low....my issue was...I just did not have the energy to do anything about it. I wanted to...but it was just all talk. I was lucky also that once my level got built back up...my ED issues got much better. The replacement therapy made me feel like me too...and right after my weekly injection I am as Randy..as a teenager. My biggest complaint is... The shrinking of my testicles. I have about an inch maybe more of scrotal sac that just sags . its not my favorite thing to see. I wish you the best.Scott. ska seeking info
