When did the size of the average penis shrink?

For a hundred years it seems, going back to masters and johnson, the size of average was 6 inches. Now i see references to 5.2 -5.4 in various places. Anyone else find this curious. Are we all shrinking ?

Measurement techniques may have varied. When Masters and Johnson collected their data, did the do the measuring or did they rely on reporting from the men?

There are some racial differences as well. Are the demographics of the men measured the same now as then?

There have been reports of our environment affecting various aspects of our health as well. Pesticides and hormones in our food and water supplies.

I believe Masters and Johnson probably relied on self reporting.

Most modern studies using medical professionals to do the measuring, report average length in the mid 5” range.

I have two questions.

What is with the bulge in the shaft short of the glans?

Why did the artist depict Priapus' erection pointing DOWN? (Was it so heavy that even a minor deity like Priapus could not get it to point up?)

That bulge is the head of his dick under the foreskin, then the small tip of foreskin past the bulge. At least in my artistic opinion....!
