faint reaction due to medicine itself (?) any alternative?

Postby MikeFromOregon » Fri Aug 23, 2019 10:44 pm

Hi all,
As I posted in a previous post, I had a faint reaction where blood drained down into my legs and caused me to go extremely lightheaded. We tried the shot a second time, and the same reaction occurred (though with less of an actual effect because i was lying back). Even with less effect though, with all the blood going elsewhere you can imagine I didn't get much of an erection in the doctor's office :P. My question is, since i was on trimix, could it have been caused by the medicine itself? I ask because I literally never have that problem with any other injection or needle, in fact I take a small needle in the leg every night, and a large needle in the leg/muscle every two weeks, and get blood drawn every 6 months to a year, and literally never have this issue. Could it be the medicine? If so, would there be one that might not cause this reaction (bimix instead of trimix, etc)?
Thanks!
-Michael.

Mike ... try explaining your situation again. Are you injecting Trimix per instructions? And the result is no erection and instead experiencing issues with your legs? How can you tell you have more blood flow to the legs ... swelling?

There are different formulations of injectables. Trimix is made from 3 ingredients, but there are others with 1, 2, or 4. It might be just one of the active ingredients that is causing you trouble. Also, Muse is a very different approach that works for some. You should probably tell your urologist what's happening and see if you can get a different variant that would work better.

Alprostadil is usually the main medication in most of the shots. Here's what medmd says about it:

"Alprostadil is a medicine that men take for ED (erectile dysfunction). It's only available by prescription. This drug makes the blood vessels expand. That boosts blood flow throughout the body, including the penis, so it helps men with ED have an erection."

Given that it expands blood vessels, this could easily be the cause of the lightheadedness, etc. If true, it's possible that standard ED mixes wouldn't be suitable for you, but ask your doctor. The guys that use Muse successfully seem to like it.

Best wishes,

Hi,
She recommended muse. Right now I'm on a quest to see if I can get muse for (alot) less than $60 per, since I'm on a very limited income and so that would not be a workable price. There's a manufacturer discount card, but unfortunately I am not covered by comercial insurance (medicaid) so I don't qualify.

As to how I know blood is flowing to my legs, I did my first two test doses in the doctor's office to titrate the dose, and first time, in a chair, I had to lean way over to stop from actually fainting. People thought I was for real. Second time I was on the table lying back, didn't get quite as bad, but I did get lightheaded, and no erection (because the blood was all elsewhere), until I got home. Worked pretty well once I was home, but clearly it's not a great option given.

The same thing happened to me with the Tri mix a few times. It is the Phentolamine that shunts blood to your groin area and effects your hearts ability to pump blood to the brain. I never passed out however

Using the Quad mix I did faint and even had a seizure (syncope) from the Phentolamine and the Atrophine together. The Atrophine actually caused Atrial Flutter that is now permanent that will require surgery. I think that most people do not react to tri mix or quad mix like this, I have thought that my reaction was somewhat rare but worth noting.
58 Yrs old ED for 4 years after alcoholism and Hernia operation using quad mix pap,ph,pg,atr 8mg/5.8mg/260mcg/290mcg now with intense pain and poor results, significant scaring on penis now
