Hi everybody!
I've been suffering with ED for about three years. It started when I was taking olanzapine, ED is a recognised side effect. During this time I was masturbating with a flaccid penis. I was prescribed viagra, which I didn't try. Instead I started using porn, I found that I could get a partial erection with stimulation and porn.
I eventually stopped taking olanzapine but the symptoms persisted. At this stage I couldn't get an erection without looking at porn and stimulation. Went to the GP and he prescribed viagra but I dont think he really understood my symptoms, he thought it was a porn thing and that I needed to break the cycle.
So about 8 months ago I tried viagra without porn and some stimulation and I was impressed with the results. A full erection! From this point onwards I was able to get a partial erection with stimulation and no porn and havent watched any porn for about a month.
So.. my concerns are... I dont get spontaneous erections, morning wood and need to stimulate my penis to get only a partial erection which, without constant stimulation, becomes flaccid very quickly. I don't have a girlfriend at the moment but this is obviously a concern. Looking on the bright side I can get a full erection with viagra, which I've only tried twice in total as I dont want to be come reliant on it.
What would you guys suggest I do next? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hey Matt 442, welcome to the forum. As you read more post in here there is a lot of good and informative information here that helps with alot of questions. As you'll see that most of us went thru the whole process starting with pills, then injections and some moving on to implants. I inject trimix like alot of others in here, it's working great so far and hope it keeps going for yrs to come, no pun intended. So ask anything you want on here, there's good threads to look at and read ,I don't answer much on implants cause I don't have one, but there is plenty of guys to ask. Browse around forum and your questions will be mostly answered and anything goes here as far as that on men's forum. Hope this helps, we've all been there!

Oops sry forgot to answer your question. It doesn't matter if you have a partner right now. What is important is you keep a healthy penis having erections. Go see a urologist and he'll set you on a course to start and the guys in here will help you also as needed. There is different strengths and availabilities in meds for all types of ED. Keep us posted and GL on the journey in FT, you won't regret it, some times these guys know a little bit more on meds than uro's do.

Re: New guy 38 uk
Thanks for your reply. I have read about the subject quite a bit. In the UK it seems like pills are the first line of treatment. My GP said I would struggle to see a specialist in my area.
I would like to know what is causing the ED. At first I wasnt sure if it was physical or psychological. . Now I think its physical but obviously dont know if its nerve damage or venous leak or some other cause. Is there any way of knowing this without seeing a urologist?
The thing is... right now... I dont really want to be masturbating and I definitely dont want to use up the efficiency of the pills before I've met someone. If that makes sense? But I dont think I'll be able to see a specialist without going down the medication route. Do you think ED can get worse if you dont use your penis?
Thanks!

If you don't keep having regular erections, by any means, then you will atrophy and lose size over time.
I'm uk too, to see a good urologist on the NHS you have to push hard if there is not one in your area.
What i did was pay to see a good one privately, who then provided me with a letter of support for a referal to him. I'm slowly getting there it just takes a long time these days. But as long as he's the right one that's the main thing.
Go private to an andrologist as near to you as possible, then ask him for advice.
