Well we tried 15 as recommended and sad to say it didnt work. Bit of a sting in the injection sire, not sure it went deep enough I used my smaller length insulin needle. i do have a 1/2 needle maybe try that next time. good thing we have all of next week off yo try again.
Just curious do you let the whole vial thaw or just enough to get an injection.

Welcome to the forum,
My thoughts, based on the little you provided:
I think you missed the spot. I know I get sting if I'm pushing the plunger while in the wrong spot. I use the 5/16" needles but I have the needle pushed all of the way in plus the plastic nub is indenting my flesh a bit. I usually actually intent further, to make sure I punched through the tough membrane, and then ease off a bit (shallower needle depth).
At 15 units you should be able to use the .3cc syringes, which allows for better plunger resistance feel. When in the correct spot the plunger should depress easily. If desired, when in the correct spot, you should also be able to test by pulling back on the plunger slightly. When in the wrong spot the plunger will probably be difficult to withdraw or actually rebound back as if under spring or vacuum. When in the correct spot it should easily withdraw a bit and remain in place. Bottom line, plunger resistance should be easy.
As a side note, while BD brand syringes are considered some of the best, in my experience, they have much more plunger resistance than other brands making a feel for plunger resistance difficult.
If you depress the plunger slowly or in pulses separated by a few seconds you should experience very little or no sting, unless you missed the correct spot.
I use a mono-mix consisting of just the alprostadil (prostaglandin) and saline. It thaws quickly due to the saline but I draw up my syringe as soon as it's liquid enough and immediately refreeze the vial.
