In 2002, I had an emergency Fem Fem bypass. What that means is, I had a synthetic artery run from my right fermoral artery to my left fermoral artery. This bypass runs right above the base of my penis. I am talking to a doctor about a Titan/3 piece, but he is concerned about the placement of the reservoir. The most I got from him was that he would discuss with a Coloplast rep to find out if it had ever been an issue that they have encountered. So...I'm curious if anyone had heard of this problem? And has anyone had a 2 piece Titan implanted?
The best I can hope for is that they do the 3 piece implant, in patient, with a vascular specialist on standby. Or do the 2 piece. Seems a little scary, since this bypass has been working fine for 18 years. I hate to screw it up.
Thanks for any input you might have for me.

I don't think there is a problem. I think the scrotal cut approach will keep any cutting away from that area. There is no cutting in that area. The surgeon just pushes a pocket up into your abdomen between layers with his finger to place the reservoir. Now,, I had a hernia surgery after my implant. I warned the hernia surgeon to be sure she stayed away from my reservoir and tubing while doing the hernia repair. Same hospital as the implant so she did consult with my implant doctor before cutting.
I am not a doctor. This is just what I have learned along the way. Watch implant videos to see the procedure.

My concern is the reservoir and it's normal location. Hopefully, by the time I meet with my doctor again, he will have consulted with others and have a plan. We don't meet again until March 2nd.
Thank you for your input. I will update. I hope no one else has this particular issue. That bypass was placed due to my left illiac artery being blocked and a clot thrown into my right ankle cutting off blood flow to my foot. 9 hours of emergency surgery. I'm lucky I have a left foot. It happened in 2002.
