Then I'll be a new member to "the club". Dr. Mobley with Methodist Urology Associates will do the implant surgery of an AMS700LGX. I am worried about length afterwards as I've always been on the small side (5 3/4" before my RPP and 5 1/2" when pumped afterwards). I'm afraid of losing even more length.
Does it help to pump the penis every day prior to the impant surgery?
IPP scheduled for Sept 26th
Re: IPP scheduled for Sept 26th
Hi SteveTex
Yes, pumping twice a day for 10 minutes does help as well as stretching with a traction device.
Actually I am surprise that your surgeon did not advise you doing so. The usual protocol is pumping twice a day for 2 month before the surgery day. The idea is stretching your penile tissue so it becomes more flexible thus allowing longer cylinders to be used.
Ask you doctor. If he agrees with the approach perhaps it would make sense to postpone the surgery for one month or so to give you time for a good preparation.

Thanks, Danny. I was using the pump anyway, but not as religious with it. I'll start two-a-days immediately.

Re: IPP scheduled for Sept 26th
Started using vacuum pump again two weeks out. Have already gained back 1/2" in length. I'm now only 1/4" shorter than my pre-RPP length in 2009. I'm hopeful the 700 LGX will expand to regain that 1/4".

Re: IPP scheduled for Sept 26th
Had my pre-op yesterday at the hospital for an EKG, urine sample and blood workup. They have to make sure I have no infections, etc. Also, I found out that my procedure on Sept 26th will last about 2 hours, so I'll be out of the OR by 10:30 and probably going home soon after noon.
I asked about the 700LGX and Dr. said my flacid length and girth should be bigger than now, and I should be able to get close to my pumped up length afterwards. (pumped up meaning max size from the vacuum pump). I will be very happy if I get that.

Being between 5-6" is only small in your mind. That is more the average size of most men. The good news is, from what I have researched, the average sized men are more satisfied with implant outcome than larger men.

You guys don't need to worry too much about 5-6-7-8 inches of length...the most important thing is that it reaches from you to her!!!
Re: IPP scheduled for Sept 26th
Anything will be better than no erection. So I am excited four days out. Planning to lie on my back the first 48 hours. Maybe a warm bath or two after 24 hours.

Re: IPP scheduled for Sept 26th
My Dr specifically closed the incision in a water tight manner to allow for warm baths, but was instructed to wait till day 3 to start. You might want to make sure your Dr is ok with whenever you start. Warm baths, actually about as hot as I could stand, felt great to me and were better than pain killers for me. At first I did 3 a day. I highly recommend them.

Re: IPP scheduled for Sept 26th
I guess my perspective going into surgery is a little different than most of you. Losing length seems to be the main concern. I am one that was never blessed with length in the beginning so I am just thrilled to finally have a penis that will be on call 24/7 to get erect. That in itself will be a major mericle for me. I am almost 53 and have never had that assurance I can not really fathom how that is going to feel. I am thinking that it will be the greatest thing to ever happen to me. Of course we all want to be young hung and full of cum but what good is that if there is no erection? This is going to be a life changing event for me and while I don't want to lose anything what I am going to gain is so much more than an inch of length focus on the big picture here my fellow ED sufferers Jim
