I’ve lived with ED for most of my life, due to a venous leakage that had gotten increasingly worse as I got older. Throughout my life, I blamed myself for not being able to maintain an erection. In my late 40’s, I consulted with urologists to try various solutions. Pills worked for awhile, injections for even less time. When I actually observed (and felt) the leakage while watching an ultrasound (at age 58), I realized that an implant was my only reasonable choice. A few weeks before I had implant surgery (an AMS 700 Ultrex)—on August 27, 2012 at Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston—I discovered this site. Though I’d learned a great deal from Bob’s blog on implants, I was glad to find a site that gave me current information from men who were at different stages of their lives, and responding to ED in so many different ways. The details from the others’ stories about implants has been really helpful in recovering from my own surgery; I’m more than two weeks out now and feeling better every day. Looks like there’s quite a road ahead but am looking forward to the next phases of recovery.

Congratulations on your new Penile Implant.
I was implanted with the Coloplast Titan in December 2007 after developing ED Post-Prostatectomy in 2004.
This completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional intimacy with my wife of 45 years.
