Hi from Maryland

Postby vedman999 » Mon Oct 01, 2012 8:47 pm

Hi all, I just found this site and have found quite a bit of good info. I'm 63 years old and I was diagnosed with Pc in Aug 2011 and underwent a radical perineal prostatectomy in October 2011. So far all PSA reading have been less than 0.007. I have been suffering with ED since the operation. I was on cialis for 8 months with no help. I recently purchased a VED and am still trying to get the hang of it. I hope to find more info on VED's.
diagnosed Aug 2011, T1C, PSA 4.3
Radical Perineal Prostectomy Oct 2011
Path result T2A
Oct 2012, PSA 0.007

Vman,

Welcome to the herd and sorry to hear you've had no joy yet. Also interesting that you had a perineal prostatectomy -- I've heard of them, but never read any posters who had one. Any advantages over retropubic or were there just other scars/surgeries preventing going in Thru The Top?

Ask away if you have any questions on the VED pump. What type did you buy etc. It really is important to get rolling with the VED as soon as possible -- you are a little behind schedule but can catch up on rehab in no time.

go forth and pump likewise ..

The Perineal Prostectomy is no better or worse than any of the other surgery options. I believe it’s the experience of the surgeon that determines the outcome. In my case the operation turned out well. At the one year mark my psa is still below zero.

I purchased my VED from Augusta Medical, it’s the response II. They were recommended by my urologist. I’m hoping it will help my ED in time.
