New to pumping - just tried for the first time tonight. Normally, my penis reaches about 6" erect or stretched flaccid. I was expecting the pump to pull it out about that amount. But, not so.
The negative pressure (even to the point of significant discomfort, which I know not to do) only brings it out to a length of about 4". But the base, about the first 1.5", swells to almost fill the tube.
Does this sound familiar? Or am I doing something radically wrong?

Good idea. I'll try to get fully extended before inserting into the tube and see what happens.

Interesting theory, but I don't think that's happening. I'm using the Encore VED which comes with a protective shield (a round rubber piece of plastic with a hole in the center). I am using the shield and it seems to be protecting the surrounding skin. But I will check more closely.

Getting erect first, before inserting, makes a difference. Although I think it kind of misses the point if I have to get hard to use it. The experiment continues.

I do appreciate the idea because, so far. It's not working at all unless I start with an erection.

Re: Engorging but not extending
OP checking back in with an update.
D'oh! I should have followed the directions. I didn't observe that my penis was encountering any friction with the inner walls of the tube so I didn't consider that lubrication was necessary. I had tried a little lube but that didn't help. But I just tried fully lubng my penis and that has made a huge difference. From a start of 30-50% erect, the VED pulled my penis out to its full length, and then some. It extended about ¾ inch longer than it's ever achieved before.
I'm quite surprised that the lube-less approach hinders my erection as much as it obviously does. For anyone else who's seen this problem, try super lubing.
