Hello,
I am new here. 43 old guy from eastern Europe, so I am sorry for my bad english.
My story: I ve never had any problem with erection. Strong bone and ready to go within a second, could have multiple sex during the day and fuck immediately after ejaculation again. But... it is the past. My erection died after 35 pills of Zoloft (SSRI AD) and I ve got condition which is known as PSSD. Classic problems - no morning wood, no spontaneous erection, no erection without physical stimulation, weak erection... Cialis 5 mg daily gives me cca. 50 percent erection, enough for penetration, not enough to offer orgasm to my girlfriend. I know about injection etc., but this condition will never be better. I have it for 9 months after last pill with no improvements and its permanent (all my blood tests, hormones and other things looks normal and I am at perfect healthy sports shape). Fortunately, other things of my sexuality seems intact - crazy libido, sensation and ejaculation. So I think that penile ipmlant could by solution for me and way out from this hell.
The problem is - I am very active man. Mountain bike 400 km every month and I do backpacking in the wild nature and sometimes expedition in taiga and tundra. I know it will never be the same like in the time when I was 100 percent healthy. I can avoid mountain bike but living in outdoor is my number one hobby. I ve read a lot about penile implants, pros and coins. Size and other things are not so important, I am not affraid of loosing size. I prefer smaller penis, but hard, fast and skillfull More comfortable flaccid state is better than bulky big dick. The classic AMS looks like the best for me.
My biggest concern is that doing backpacking and stay in the nature will be impossible, because it can harm some parts of the implant or increase the risk of infection or the long time walking with 10 - 15 kg backpack will be painfull.
Do you have some experience about backpacking and trekking with penile implant? Walking 20 - 30 km for a day, sleeping outdoor under tarp, winter camping? Is there any problem with hipbelt or something?
I dont wanna do that activities in the first months after operation of course, I talk about the time 6 months - 1 year.

Re: Backpacking and outdoor activity with penile implant
Hi, I can't answer the backpacking issue because I have never done it and I'm 85 but have had my AMS implant 11-1/2 years. Extremely pleased with it and you will be also. Hope you enjoy your dick as much as I do even at my age. I still feel very young and have good sex with my wife. Best to you.
RP 1998; removed cancer but left with complete ED; penile implant 2011; 6" penis; continuing to have good sex until my wife died 10/1/22. Trying to learn to live alone after 65 years of a good marriage.
Re: Backpacking and outdoor activity with penile implant
At your age and having ED already an implant might be your answer for sexual purposes. Biking might be tough, especially for the first few months. Hiking shouldn't be any problem. One thing needed might be a change in the type of underwear you might normally wear for comfort and support. Once you're fully healed outdoor activity should not cause any infection or problems than it did before implant. Your time frame of 6-12 months to get back to things is about right.
Good luck on your decision moving forward.

Re: Backpacking and outdoor activity with penile implant
I have PFS which is similar to PSSD. My libido is zero though.
Backpacking and hiking will be absolutely no issue. I ride my bike now and do not have any issues either. I think I went on a bike ride 4-5 days after my implant. However, I never ride more than a few kms.
You should be fine.
