Ved use and erosion

Postby drayan123 » Fri Oct 07, 2022 1:19 pm

I’ve heard that daily use of ved will give u some extra length before implant but wouldn’t it cause erosion if the oversized implant is implanted and my penis size will get back to normal ?

From all the research I've done erosion is a multifactorial problem of which oversizing the tubes is just one facet. Some urologists purposely oversize the tubes a tad to try and give you good results. Glans erosion appears to be more about pressure necrosis where you cause ischemia (low blood flow) to glans because the tubes apply too much consistent pressure to the glans and cut off blow flow to a certain area. In order to minimize this - you cycle the implant a lot at first. If pain in glans, deflate. Your body actually has the ability to adapt to areas of low flow over time. However any sign of erosion and your urologist should be notified immediately.

The other side to erosion is poor wound healing. Specifically in diabetic patients who are predisposed to chronic poor healing wounds.

Could you point me to some of the references you may have found on erosion? Or explain your findings on the symptoms of erosion? I am concerned because the front tips don't seem to be placed properly on mine . They end at the thin skin on the underside of my penis below the glans. They do not put pressure on the skin. So what I do is when I inflated I push the glans forward and that puts the glans over the tips. And I hold it there for the duration of inflation. This causes a little discomfort but no pain. It feels like I'm in stretching mode. My urologist is completely unapproachable. I am going to my M D. To discuss this. I am also considering finding another urologist to consult, but I'm not sure if I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I am not an expert but I have read a whole lot about VEDs and I can say fairly confidently that gaining "extra length" from a VED traction therapy is not a real concern. Can I ask, where did you even come across the concept? All the medical research is consistent about their efficacy. I came across this in a recently released study. The introduction starts with,

The vacuum erection device (VED) is the oldest therapy used
for male sexual function among all approved modalities. It was
introduced for erectile dysfunction (ED) nearly 150 years ago,
cleared by U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1982 and
adopted by American Urological Association (AUA) in 1996 as a
standard of care.1 Significant amount of clinic evidence has
proven the effectiveness of VED for ED since the early 1980s.

Wang, R. (2022). Is There Still a Role for Vacuum Erection Devices in Contemporary Sexual Medicine? The Journal of Sexual Medicine, 19(5), 682–685. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jsxm.2022.02.013

If a VED gave anyone "extra length" then they would be very well known as the devices that magically make your dick artificially bigger. But they're not, so they don't.

I am looking for comments on whether or not to use VED before implant? Saw various answers so far, nothing really robust of a comment section on it that convinces me either way....
I have a consultation with Doctor Loh Boyle at USC in November. I have not used VED therapy.
Had the RP surgery in 2015 and immediately noticed a loss in length.
Looking for input on whether to use this therapy now, later, etc?
Also, thanks to the two guys that responded to me about the referral to USC and the insurance coverage. I recently heard from another doc on Youtube that RP causes yearly loss in length due to atrophy as your nighttime/sleeptime errections/growth is eliminated for the most part which is like no longer going to the gym, exercise time is over.
Also, anyone know if injections cause scarring of tissue that prevents the stretching/growth capabilities over the long run, especially during the implant surgery and beyond?
Lastly, big thanks everyone, I am learning about this on the fly, if it was not for FrankTalk I would not get the real answers/experiences. Everything in the media is bent towards a sale of the product related to the person talking, in my opinion. Or too neutral and guarded of an opinion to be useful to the average guy.
Trimix went up in price and they are making sure it goes BAD quickly nowadays. that is my opinion. I use University Compounding out of San Diego. Anyone else have comments on that?
RP 2015. all downhill real fast. 2022 consulting doctor at USC. Apptmt is in November going bionic??

Stupid, you need to understand that if a prostate is removed. The urethra that passes through it is removed also. The urethra is stretchy. So removing 1-2" of it will pull your penis back to the body by about the diameter of your prostate. Regular stretching of your penis (ureatha) can cause the ureatha to lengthen thus removing the bungee cord effect on your penis.
I've never had PC, likely never will. But my opinion is that men that have had PC should strongly consider frequently penis stretching.
My wife is friends with a girl whose boy friend had PC. His doctor told him to masturbate 1-2 times a day as soon as possible after surgery. Wife & I thought this was strange advice. But now based on FT's knowledge. I see the logic.
I hope that this rambling story gives you some info to help you decide on your path. Good luck.
