How much did you guys pay for everything, implant, hospital stay and all.

The doctor I went to charged 24k for the implant and the surgery. It was about 500 more for the scrotal webbing removal. Have to see if I saved my hotel and airfare for the trip. Then there were meals. I took some stuff with me and bought some stuff when I arrived so I was set to stay as flat as possible as much as I could after the surgery. I flew in a day early in case of delays. And for time to do some shopping and sight-seeing. and stayed a bit past when I was released to fly back to give things some extra time. A week stay in the hotel was not much more than 4 nights with 7 day booking discount. Then I had to pay my share of what insurance did not pay for my surgery certification. Blood work and EKG. And a pee test. Then there was stuff I needed to buy like a jock strap, bacitracin ointment, Motrin, sterile gauze pads, bags of pinto beans for ice packs, large zip lock baggies to put things in to keep them clean. Not counting things like bleach, I already had. There was Hibiclens and new underwear I bought. I would guess another 2k. Depends on where you go though as airfare will very and lodging will also. And meals can differ depending on where you eat.

BCBS declined revision so im doing the self pay route, quoted two prices from different urologist in Texas. $37k and $23K includes fees for surgeon, anesthesiologist and hospital. Pricing collected in October this year. Presurgery test fees TBD. Im still in the process of selecting doctor for revision.

Mine was about $1100 after insurance in 2008.

Mine was just under $20,000. Paid out of pocket. Used my airline miles to get free travel. Recall the hotel around $250/night for four nights.

I'm curious why BCBS declined the revision? Usually the fight is for the initial implant but not the revision.

Yea BCBS denying coverage was a big surprise, turns out it an exclusion to my policy, their pamplet reads: "Any servicers or supplies provided for, in preparation for, or in conjunction with sexual dysfunctions" . My Doctors appeal for a peer to peer review went no where because the procedures an exclusion vs appealing for whether or not it was medically necessary.

Didnt have this problem for the initial implant because I had different insurance at the time, it was Aetna and all I had to pay was $1,500 deductable.

I’m on disability due to my back surgeries, they paid 100%, I just paid for the hotel room.

$17k, (8/20) of which my portion was about $800. Absolutely no hassles with the insurance company either. Could not be happier with the results.
