Best way to shave

Postby Steve5231 » Sat Feb 25, 2023 2:55 pm

I’m looking for advice. What is the best method of shaving your dick and balls? Electric? If so, which brand/model is best? Or safety razor? Or?

I don't claim to have the best answer. I've tried hair removing cream but too dangerous and too much trouble. I've tried electric razors designed for man scaping. They tended to nick off the tops of my hair follicle bumps causing little raw spots and tiny blood spots. What I've found works best is high quality multi-blade (3+) razors with Avon shave gel. I did get a few nicks originally but my skin seemed to get more nick resistant over time.

Most of the hair on my body has been removed w/a laser bu, for what's left, I just use a Shick Fusion (multiblade razor) but I don't use soap.

I learned long ago from the ladies that the best shaving "cream" is either hair conditioner or a water based hand lotion. Results will vary depending on the brand but, when you find the right one, you'll never get a smoother shave.

And, of course, the newer/sharper the shaver the better.

I found that Gillette CustomPlus 3 disposable razors work well. The blades are flexible, and open at the back to make rinsing out stubble easier. (Trapped stubble can cause nicks).

As far as shave creme, I found Cremo works best. They also make a ladies version with aloe that gives a nice feeling afterward.

Main thing is to pull the skin taught, and don't use too much pressure. The skin down there is thin and sensitive.

I’ve used the Body Groomer by Norelco for a number of years with only a few nicks when I pushed too hard against the skin. It’s battery powered and can be used in the shower.

I use Shavesecret oil in the shower.
Once in a blue moon, I'll get a shave bump.
Walmart occasionally carries it, but I order mine on Amazon.
Proz:
Eliminated Shave bumps and superior cut resistance on my neck.
Does add an skin oil.
Con:
The oil makes it hard to clear the shaver blades.
I use a 4 blade razor.

Just one additional item to add to other thoughts on shaving down there, my skin is very very prone to ingrown hairs. It doesn't matter if I use a 1 2 3 or 10 blade razor, I'm going to get razor burn and I am going to get ingrown hairs.

The first thing I found that greatly improved the situational both my face and my balls and pubic area is using a shaving brush with shaving soap instead of cream or oil. Make a fine lather apply it with the brush firmly over the entire area. Something to do with the way it exfoliates around the follicles just flat reduces the instance of razor burn I get by about 75%. The most expensive multi blade, dovecot straight razor, and dual edge safety razors you can buy only made about 10% difference for me from worst to best.

... And then I found magic. It's called, "Philips Norelco OneBlade Face + Body Hybrid Electric Trimmer and Shaver." It looks like a very bizarre electric razor with disposable heads like a Mach 3 style razor... You want the one that is just the blade You don't want any of the guards, guides, or combs. They're flat and slightly abrasive and have a reciprocating cutting edge built not against the bottom but up slightly from it. Now let me preface this by saying for cutting down a jungle this is not the tool of choice... For going from a fast qt inch clip to bare as a baby's ass this thing is solid gold. Completely zero razor burn ever, zero nix ever (You can push the cutting edge against your skin and it will not cut you, or at least it is never cut me), and it doesn't even feel like a 5:00 shadow.

If you're having trouble shaving your junk, give that one a try... If you're not really having any major problems and just want to resolve the occasional and grown hair and such, try a cheap shave brush with some shave soap (proraso makes some lovely smelling eucalyptus tea tree stuff that is spectacular smelling and cooling.)

Say what you will but there's a certain comfort about feeling safe shaving across your lumpy ass ball skin without the worries of taking a chunk out of yourself.

The best way to shave can vary depending on individual factors such as skin sensitivity, hair thickness, and personal preference. However, here are some general tips that can help improve your shaving experience:

Start by washing your face or the area you want to shave with warm water to soften the hair and open up the pores.

Apply a shaving cream or gel to help lubricate the skin and reduce friction while shaving.

Use a sharp and clean razor to avoid irritation and razor burn. Consider using a single-blade razor or a safety razor, as they tend to be less harsh on the skin than multi-blade razors.

Shave in the direction of hair growth to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs and irritation. If you want a closer shave, you can go against the grain, but be careful not to apply too much pressure.

Rinse your skin with cool water after shaving to close the pores and soothe the skin.

Apply a moisturizing aftershave or lotion to hydrate the skin and prevent dryness or irritation.

Replace your razor blade regularly to ensure a clean and smooth shave.
