I am going in! (Someone cover me! lol)

Postby Zenmasterdj » Sun May 07, 2023 1:31 pm

Hi guys

It is almost time. I came into the country about a week ago. Did a little business, went to visit some family and now packing my bags and on the way to travel to Houston at 6am.

I have Surgery with Clavelle on Tuesday morning. Stay in Houston for just one day and then fly to the Philippines (23 hours of travel) at 8am on Thursday.

This is the travel schedule that Clavelle suggested.

I am normally over prepared for everything, but considering the scope of how life changing this surgery can potentially be, I chose to not be 'that guy".

I stopped coming on here a few weeks ago. Chose not to overthink everything. I am pretty sure I am prepared.

A little nervous about the flight. Even more nervous about infection. Paying cash. The whole thing, with travel is around $30k so I don't want to have to do it again. Along with the discomfort and upheaval of my life that an infection would bring.

Anyway, any last minute advice? I guess I will probably read them in the next 48 hours.

My will power is only so strong lol ;)

Thanks in advance!!

If you’re doing the penoscrotal install, I would definitely use gel ice packs. I’m sure you will do just fine! Good Luck! Keep us updated, especially how your flight goes back to the Philippines.

Alternate Tylenol and Advil every 3 hours, per Dr. Clavell's recommendation.

Baby sock over the head of your penis makes things a little more comfortable.

Make sure you pack the hospital supplied handheld urinal. You can stand and use it or sit and use it when you need go to #2. Rinse out and dump in toilet and you're ready for next time.

ThailandBound appreciated sitting on a donut to relieve some pressure down there, I bought one and didn't find I needed it. Your mileage may vary.

The pelvic nerve block is your best friend, I didn't have much pain at all, the bigger challenge was just getting situated with a 70% boner all the time. I good problem to have considering I had come from an all natural 10% boner for the past couple of years.

Keep your hands to yourself! That's where bacteria could enter if you're down there messing around with it too much. ;)

Godspeed, and welcome to our newest Clavellian!

To my knowledge, most airlines will provide wheelchair assistance if you ask ahead of time. Transferring between gates at stopovers/transfers, moving your carry-on bag(s), getting up and down the boarding ramps. I certainly would take advantage of the assistance if walking and carrying were difficulat post-op.

Great idea. If you’d prefer to forego the wheelchair, i’d suggest you speak with the gate agent for your flight, inform them you’ve had recent surgery (no details necessary) and ask if it’s ok to board with an early group.

My agent didn’t hesitate to let me preboard with the elderly and infirmed. This prevents you from standing on the jet bridge with your carry on, getting jostled by your fellow travelers.

You mentioned ice on the plane. I’d suggest taking some of those chemical ice bags in your carry on. The kind you crush and shake to activate. Can be discreetly placed in a jockstrap if necessary. Maybe a mild sleep aid, since yours is a long flight. (ZZZQuill….which is just benadryl. unless you have something stronger).

Thanks guys. Just landed in Houston.
Got precheckin appointment at 3:45. Less than 24 hours now.

Gotta see if I can find those ice packs.

Not sure how many you would need for a long long flight!

Good luck!

Hey Bud,

I remember that “night before” all too well. You’re alone in a hotel room trying to occupy your mind on your phone, or watching tv….but in the background is the sense that it’s almost game time.

Shit’s about to get real!

Once you walk through those doors tomorrow it will feel like you’re just along for the ride. I remember waking up in the recovery room with the kindest nurse looking directly at me asking “is it over?”.

And it was.

And now, 4 months in, my sexy life is roaring back with a vengeance! You’re going to be fine!
