All who have had a revision for one reason or another.
It looks like I may be needing a revision/replacement of my 7 y/o implant. I'll know by the middle of July. I'm just wondering what has been the time lines on recovery (getting back to reasonable normal) has been. If I'm not mistaken, my original surgery recovery time was less than 4 weeks but in reality, I was driving and walking the next day. And in general doing most things with in a week.
So. How long after revision did you start to cycle?
How long before you were able to go about your everyday business?
We're you inflated and if so how nuch and for how long after surgery?
And maybe the big question, did the Dr up size you any?
I know everyone and every Dr is different, so just look for generalities here.
Thanks Bb

71. ED for about 10+ years to one extent or another. Implanted 9/14/2016 AMS CX 18+3 Fl/ Ky
Re: Revision time-line
Healing is quicker with less discomfort. The longest part of the timeline was scheduling the surgery. I was 4 months in the queue. Dr did upsize the implant but somehow I still ended up over one inch shorter with the revision.

I went back to work (office) in 6 days. I didnt take any pain medication at any point. Back to gym in 4 weeks, but increasing levels of walking since day 2.
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.

Do you know why you lost length? I think this also shows that there’s not a ton of correlation between gaining or losing size with increasing the implant length.

Was that after a revision or after the initial implant surgery?

Re: Revision time-line
The revision is much girthier, so that may have something to do with it. I had a 24 cm AMS CX with 0.5 cm RTE and revised with 26 cm titan no RTE. Upsized total of 1.5. CM but lost 3 cm in length. I have not been aggressively cycling so perhaps my own fault.

Re: Revision time-line
My recovery from the revision in some ways was more difficult than the original surgery. For example after the revision pain persisted in the reservoir site were the original one was removed. This area took about 2 months before I could get back to my normal routine. Otherwise everything else was fine. I likewise lost some length and gained girth but its still early in the cycling process so it too soon to tell if this will remain the case.
62 yrs old first implanted 9/4/2012 Titan OTR, lasted 10 years failed on 9/7/2022. Revision by Dr. Clavell 4/5/2023. 24cm + 1cm RTE's, Titan OTR. 110CC cloverleaf reservoir. Penoscrotal both times.

Re: Revision time-line
Had my revision Thursday 6/22 due to pump failure. Apparently in 2019 there was a
issue with the pumps for the titan, Something to do with the silicone that was used.
Surgery went well, only thing replaced was the pump. Zero pain. Dr. Brady said recovery would be about 4-6 weeks but
I'm feeling ready to go tomorrow. No pain meds used. Zero loss in size and looking forward to playing.
I swear if it wasn't for the bruising be using it tonight!

Good to hear. If I need a full replacement, I hope it goes as well. I do remember the original surgery wasn't really all that bad, except for a few days and they weren't terrible
