Deflation issue

Postby iwantanewone » Sun Sep 17, 2023 11:34 am

Good morning all… Wondering if anyone experiences this. I am one and a half years implanted with ams 700…. when I am fully inflated and sex begins with a blow job or stroking or playing or something like that there seems to be about a 20 to 30% deflation of which I do not hear the pump doing anything and then when I am ready for penetrative sex I have to deflate and re-inflate to be fully hard and erect again. It does not happen every time. It does not happen during masturbation or during penetrative sex only moving from foreplay to penetrative sex. It seems like some of the saline leaks out…. I have not contacted the surgeon yet. It’s not a major problem, but does require deflation and re-inflation sometimes..I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has experienced this. Thank you!

I have not had this problem, but I did have other problems with my pump early on. The problem is either a sticky pump and it is not switching fully to inflate mode, or it is leaking in full inflate mode. The other thing it could be is a leak in one of the parts of the device but it this has been going on for some time you would have leaked out all the fluid in the system and it would not work. The two things I would try is to really use a fast and strong first pump to get a really good pop switching from deflate mode to inflate mode. And be careful you are not pressing the deflate button while pumping. If that does not work, then contact your AMS rep and as for help and the reset procedure for the pump. The reset goes against some of the inflation rules and the rep may ask you so other questions before giving it to you. And they may even have other things I do not know about. This will get you on record with your pump problem with AMS if it does fail.

Thank you newbi…..good advice. I will contact Boston. I’m going to make appt to see surgeon and have him reset the pump. I’m sure he can tell if everything is functioning. I definitely don’t hit the deflate button…and you can definitely hear the buzz if you do….I think these have pump issues which is why a new pump is in the future for ams….and probably for all of us. Urrr!

Many times a good AMS rep has more fixes for problems than a doctor. Just saying. My original implant doctor was considered at the time to be up there with EID and Perito. When I had pump issues he advise to shake the pump and keep trying. After weeks he told me he had no idea what to do as he had never had the problem not self correct at that point. I was told to contact a very good and well known AMS rep at the time and she gave me the pump reset procedure and it was mostly fixed with in minutes. So weeks vs minutes......well it did take several days for the AMS rep to get back to me so weeks vs well I guess never as my doctor could not help. Just saying and I'm sure some AMS reps are better than others.

I think Newbie443 has some good advice. Its said frequently that the first pump needs to be quick & firm. I'm guessing that consistently doing that might get you better results.

Reposting….. as stated… on initial inflation implant is firm and erect…. Sometimes deflates on its own about 25 to 30%….. similar to ED… urrrr…..

Will speak to AMS rep and surgeon….
Anyone else experience this?

Thanks!
