My Titan always buckles a bit on one side when deflated--almost sharp pointy area at left outside base of penis.
Well, probably NOT coincidentally, year out from implantation-- during awkward in-car sex-- the device tore through the side wall and was outside my corpora (but still inside the skin of the penis) AT THAT SAME SPOT.
Wondering if AMS softer material would have been better?

Whoa! “Tore through”, as in, you can see the corpora or implant exposed? I have a dog ear but it’s no big deal.
Active, athletic 63 years old. Sexually, still 33 in my mind and spirit. Pills and injections all worked, until they didn’t. Diagnosed with veinous leakage in 2022. Coloplast Titan. 22 CM. No RTE. Peno-scrotal. Implanted 1/4/23. Dr. Clavell.

Hard to say if AMS would be better. I have a lgx. 13 weeks out. Had issue with pump tubing places too far mid Shaft and would "jam" when having sex. Doc said dont worry about and keep at it to break up any scar tissue....
Well, it buckled enough at the corporotomy site that the sutures popped and cylinder is anerysmally bulging out the corpra...
Revision to Titan next month
LGX 700 18.5cm 6'23 by Kaiser Dr. Moheydar do not recom. 12 wks LT cyl failure. Rev to Genesis 11'23.Poor inst again, twisted cyli & tub 3rd surgery Dr Odorica Nov24, with near perfect & web removal. Postop length 5.5" near 6" normal.

Yes, the entire left tube was outside the corpora along the side of my penis!! (but still inside the skin)
Revision surgery--involved poking the same device back into place and new sutures
As other said

All the following is speculation and your surgeon would be in a much better position to render an opinion because he has (and will) actually seen/see your tissues and has experiences to draw from as well as the experiences of other surgeons he may consult.
I think the crinkle (dog ear) may have stressed your corpora/tunica and caused the aneurism/tear. This suggests that leaving the same tube in place and "patching" the tear might leave you vulnerable for a repeat unless you get rid of that "dog ear". Discuss with your surgeon - extensively.
Undeniably, the AMS devices are of a more pliable construction and less prone to the "dog ears" that the Coloplast devices are heir to.
Having said all that, "awkward in-car sex" might have buckled an AMS device and caused the same tear, even without having had a dog-ear at that spot.
It's a mystery and you will have to evaluate whether switching to AMS is worth the extra surgery. Use your surgeon's judgement (as well as the advice you get here on FrankTalk) as much as you can to reassure yourself.

I leave a pump or two in the tubes and the small sized dog ear goes away.

Holly Molly this is crazy. I suggest that everyone should get rid of the dog ear by having little fluid while flaccid. This way the dog ear won't have a chance to slowly damaging the tunica. I m curious who was your doctor?

This is exactly what everyone should be doing to avoid the unnatural sensation but most important to avoid potential damege ike this one.
