Tri-Mix and a Cock Ring ?

I’ve read a couple of post that some of you fellas who inject also wear a cock ring during that time the Rx is active. A question ….. Why? What’s is the benefit? How long do you wear it? Pros & cons? Any and all responses appreciated. Anyone that doesn’t do it can post as well. Thanks.

At first, Trimix alone was sufficient for long lasting, hard erections. As time went on, after about three years, I began to have to use stronger and stronger formulas. By the time 6 years had past, I needed not only the stronger formulas, but also a constriction band to prevent venous leakage. I could leave the band on for quite a while and I did achieve very good engorgement.
However, I am now at the point of implant simply because I want sex more often and more convenient, as well as better erection certainty all the time.
I believe that the Trimix worsened my venous leakage over the 7 years I used it.
The constriction band (actually I use a proper size and fitted rubber band with my girlfriend calling me "the rubberband man") is a great addition to the Trimix, and maybe even the implant, to achieve much greater girth and engorgement of the glans and shaft.

The following are not medical answers as I have absolutely no medical credentials. Everything I post is based on my own experiences at best and hallucinations and or delusions at worst. I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Internet forum advice is likely worth what you paid for it, or worse. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

Practical why: A ring with proper (for you) size and tension can boost an injection achieved erection either by slowing blood loss or retaining the medication. It can boost the duration of an erection. It can allow a smaller dose of meds or give a boost when meds aren't quite doing the job. Depending on how it's worn it can also improve the erection angle by pulling in the suspensory ligament, lifting the erection.

Other whys: It can actually feel kinda good and even give a confidence boost. Your partner may like the effect. They can be sexually stimulating.

How long: Well that depends on the amount of constriction. I've worn one for well over an hour, and I'm sure for 2 hours at times. However this was after I was experienced and knew the effect of the ring used. If it hurts it needs to come off. If your dick starts to get cool or darker it needs to come off. Use common sense. Error on the side of safety. If you're using one that provides the constriction you would get with a medical grade constriction ring as used after a VED then you're limited to 20 minutes.

Pros: It can boost an erection. It can extend the duration of an erection. It can boost confidence. It can feel good in subjective ways. Your partner may like it. They can be fun and enhance the general experience.

Cons: Can be dangerous if your use is unwise. Pay attention to your dick and notice if it's too tight or causing a cool or dark dick. Use common sense (Ask questions like you're doing now). Your partner may not like them. A ring that is thick can annoy or cause discomfort to your partner (communicate).

Thank bldoink, you do a great job here on Frank Talk. Always informative. As for me ............. shall we say in the "old days", I loved wearing cock rings. Made me harder, kept me hard longer, made me bigger and thicker, and made me look great. Now ............. I have no interest in them. It seems they just don't feel the same, or give me that increased sensation and arousal as before. I can't explain it, but it's just not the same.

All I know is if it weren't for wearing a cock ring, I would have been on the implant line a long time ago. The cock ring still works great for me, I use it safely and pay attention to my response in leaving it on beyond a half hour. I will do what I need to do within reason to avoid surgery. I just know of too many incidents where people either died or got very sick after just routine surgeries where they got sepsis. I worked in the medical field for over 30 years, have a close friend who's a retired doctor who has told me several "horror" stories of post surgical problems. Yes they are rare but can be common depending what part of the country in which you're receiving your medical care. In today's society workers in every field just do not pay proper attention to details, and in medicine details matter...a lot!.. Just look around you and see how workers cut corners with car, home repairs etc...It used to be different in the medical field, but no more. Ethics are not as stringent as when I was working. I really noticed this the last several Joint Commission inspections of the hospital I worked in prior to retirement.. To be blatant about it, the surveyors were just lax in their approach and in their recommendations. Sorry for the rant guys....sometimes any knowledge is just too much knowledge if you get my drift..

I've NEVER liked cock rings. I much prefer my natural erection but that ship seems to have sailed and I'm finding the only way to maintain a good, useable erection is with a sort of restriction device. I'm fairly girthy at the base (6.75" circumference) and even with the smallest ring, it didn't really keep the blood in very well.

I've tried the various sizes and found the couple that work the best for me personally. I cut the 8" sleeve down to 4" and fold it in half once to make it 2" long but double thickness. When it's time for penetration, I slide it over my slightly erect penis (after using a good 100% silicone lube on the lower part of my shaft)....it's a bear to stretch to get over your dick...JFYI. I have great grip strength and still have to use 3 fingers on each hand to open it up enough to get that sucker on. Once it's on, I put my fingers inside the sleeve with the lube and make sure to push it all the way to the base of my penis and up against my pubic bone. This is typically enough to give a very good erection with very little stimulation but if I want it even harder, I fold it again once it's on...so the 'sleeve' is now 4 ply and more like a 1" ring. I can only wear it like this for about 20 minutes before it has to come off to allow more blood back in...but, it's worked to allow me and the wife to at least have sex again. I'm super grateful to have found this band-aid and just want to pass it on to others in case you're in the same boat with this nightmare that is ED.
