Lost my nerve to inject

I don't what happened but I completely lost my nerve to inject.
I cannot get over this god forsaken needle.
I've injected dozens of times now and it's never gotten easier.
Every time is the same agonizing mental hurdle of putting a needle in my dick.

My doctor put me on PGE1-PGE3 to start and I've responded really poorly to it.
We've finally started on trimix and I've had one completely unresponsive injection to it.
I think because I've just yet to experience that payoff that trimix users describe I don't know the shining light that awaits for me on the other side.
I've yet to experience the reason why I'm putting myself through all this misery.
My injection the other day was accompanied with an unusual amount of pain, it was a total dud.. possibly a misfire, and with it it's like I'm back at square one.

How did ya'll get over the hump with the mental hurtle of injecting?
And please, no recommendations for the autoinjector. What an imprecise hunk of crap.
I've had more misfires from that than anything else.

Some Auto injectors are better than others.

I use one called Inject Ease...works great.

I don't like needles but this injector makes it easy.

It just injects the needle and then you push the plunger down slowly...

i have not gotten over the hurdle yet and its still an issue every time i inject. most are painless but most do have some pain. that pain is nothing compared to some failed attempts at an IV. the best piece of advice i have is to use a VED. my 4th injection was the worst and that was only in the bruise i gave myself injecting and i nicked a vein. it still worked but looked horrendous. after that one i started using it. it gives you an a lot better real estate to inject and a clearer spot. i dont inject without it. we went on vacay and i still brought the VED with me. for me, my difficult side is the left side. it seems majority of the veins and nerves for me reside on my left side and all my misfires have been on that side. almost all injections are painful only in the initial prick. the VED gives me the ability to feel when i pierce both layers. i also aspirate to ensure i am in the right area. i knew that it was going to be a chore having to inject every time but the pain was more than worth it with the amazing sex the wife and i have been able to have. i started in 2022 and am now up to 250 injections and lately we have been more active to where i have been injecting 4- 6 days in a row. most injections with at least 20-24 hours in between. on those times, i definitely feel every injection but they are all worth it for me with the results. i have not tried an auto injector but that would scare me. i took the first 10 injections as tests for me and even now i sill still have an issue with some step in injecting but i push through it. with everything, be patient with yourself.

I am sorry to learn of your struggle. But I understand. It is not always easy to face the needle. I struggle with it mostly in my head.
I can only tell you how I find success.
First, I plump up a little bit with the VED. This gives me more real estate to find a suitable injection spot. I then advance the needle slowly, being careful to avoid any obvious veins, sometimes it hurts, sometimes it does not. When I have advanced the needle all the way in, my wife depresses the plunger. Since adopting this technique, I have never had a failure.
I use bimix, which does not cause the ache that trimix would always cause. It took about 6 months to get good at it, and to find the right dose.
As difficult as you may find it, I would urge you to persevere. With time and experience, the odds are good that you will be successful.

Bought a Autoiject 2 and with the half inch needle pierced my urethra. Lots of blood came out. Any suggestion on needle length or whether the thing can be adjust to shoot in a bit less needle?

Once a phobia begins it can turn into a vicious cycle. Whether it’s driving over a bridge or claustrophobia, the treatment usually involves repeated exposure to the fear-inducing stimuli. I would seek support from a medical assistant or nurse who can coach you through a few injections. Maybe a fellow brother lives near you and can coach you or perhaps your spouse/partner can have more involvement. I’m 4 months into this and still shake a little bit but each time it gets slightly easier. Good luck. Getting this far is a big part of the battle. Keep trying!!

I really appreciate everyone taking the time out of their busy lives to write thoughtful and compassionate responses.
Hiding away in a bathroom while sticking a needle in your dick can be so lonesome and discouraging.
Truly grateful for this forum and all the shared experiences held within it.

A lot of confusion and frustration still surrounds the need to inject so I think I was getting extra in my head after maxing out of PGE and not responding to the initial Trimix injection.
That said, I stuck with it thanks to everyone's encouragement, titrated up a tiny bit and got a good injection. I've officially seen the light!
The PGE gave me an unnatural leaky helium balloon of agony but this trimax dose was like having my natural erection from my teen years back... for two hours.
It was encouraging to say the least and I honestly see these injections getting a little easier knowing what awaits me on the other end (or the next room over rather).

Injecting can be painless, but not quick. I've never used an auto-injector because of the lack of control.

My penis is thin enough so that I can use a 31 gauge needle (5/16in=8mm). This goes in a little easier than the 30 gauge needles. Guys with thicker penises probably need the half-inch needles.

The first layer of skin has a microscopic network of nerves, and I can get a needle between nerves by walking it around until I feel nothing. Then I hold my shaft presenting a slightly convex surface to the syringe, and push in slowly hoping that I also get between nerves in the second skin layer. Feeling pain further down, I pull out and begin again. Eventually I reach the tunica which is painless to push through. I take my time; this is a very slow process for me.

When I think I'm in the corpus, I inject the smallest possible amount grasping the plunger stem between thumb and first finger. If there's any pain, I know that I'm in some wrong place. I try pushing the needle in some more, denting the skin with the syringe nose, and try injecting a very small amount again. When there's no pain, I'm in the corpus. Now there should be no more resistance to plunger travel than if the needle were in air. If it's not the case, I pull out and start over. Sometimes it takes me a half-hour, but as others have said, it's worth it!

An FT friend told me that EasyTouch brand syringes have less "sticktion," or sticking friction, that other brands, and he's right. They're easier to do the pain test with than my drugstore's brand.

My provider set the autoinject 2 insertion limit such that about 5/16" is used when injected. It's almost like doing it by hand with a 5/16" needle.
